In yours posts I see that are lot of differences of states laws to buy and own guns. Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. |

Texas, New Hampshire, Alaska are pretty liberal with gun laws. Definately stay away from Califonia and Massachusetts.

We can even have Full autos, silencers, tracers, tanks, NUclear devices. Don't need a license to carry. Can carry in your car, glove box or console, loaded without a license and if you get caught carrying concealed without a permit it is a misdemeanor. Just joking about the tanks and Nuclear devices... All in all a good state to live FREE in.

didn't know Az was that liberal with there gun laws Guess I'll have to take my sisters suggestion to move down there more seriously.

isnt the best for gun laws but it does allow CCW and open carry.the laws arent a problem if you are a law abiding citizen.

a license for CCW thats good for all states or even better just allow all people without a record to carry open or concealed.

I would say my state is pretty decent, I live in Virginia. The law on guns arent to strict yet. If your over 21 you can own a Machien gun as long as it is registerd with the state police. Also you have to be 21 to own a pistol. But Rifles and shotguns and semi auto weapons can be owend by people 18 years and older and they do not have to be register with state police. I think its fair.

you can also conceal or open carry if you have the right liscences

I agree with you. Either a CCP that's good anywhere in the US, or just not to even need one to carry either openly or concealed.

I believe Montana is going to be a test case that will go to the suppreme court on a sales issue. This is similar to the big one allowing gun ownership in DC. All the states above had reciprical ccw's in 2007. Unless changed, which i doubt they still do. Sam's right about our great state of AZ. We only have one "way" liberal city (Tucson) and it's still very shooter friendly, with lots of great dealers, and regular gun shows. Bear, you should take the move into consideration.

Guys, thanks for answers!
What about concealed carry permit? I mean what"s procedure? You go to autorities(police?)and ask permit or what?
I have concealed carry permit, but I am one of the rare people here who have that kind of permission. Usually, people here have only permit for possessed arms for self-defence in own property, not for carry. Hunters carry hunting guns, but only in hunting area, and shooters only in shooting range.

The procedure varies by state. Each state has their own procedures (except for a couple which don't allow concealed carry at all). When I lived in Pennsylvania, one went to the county sheriff. Here in Utah, one goes to the UT state police. Both states are "shall issue" states, meaning that after they investigate you, if they find nothing against you, you will be issued a permit.

Thanks!
Which states don"t allow CC?

Here's a map you can use: http://www.carryconcealed.net/legal/
The real key here is a 'shall issue' state versus a 'may issue' state. Some of the 'may issue' states are effectively 'no issue' because they make it so difficult to obtain. California is one of those states. It is a 'may issue' but it rarely does, plus it has lots of extra restrictions on, for example, magazine size, type of gun, etc.
As greasy stated, our state, Washington, is pretty good in that it is a 'shall issue' state so if the local PD can't find anything bad, they MUST issue a permit. On the other hand, owning automatics is a lot more difficult and has extra restrictions.
One of the key issues is 'reciprocity' so if you get a permit in the right state, other states will honor it. The map I cited above will tell you this. If you get a permit in the right state, you're eligible for up to 30 states at a time. If you get an Alaska permit, for example, it is accepted by 31 other states, so you've actually got 32 states total. California, on the other hand, is not reciprocal with ANY other state, though several other states accept California permits.
Pretty confusing at times, especially since the Second Amendment SHOULD be the ONLY permit we need in all fifty states. In fact, even that is not a permit; it is a RIGHT.

Thank you very much, now is a clear.
I agree with you, 2nd must be only thing what you need, because, the Constitution is a highest law in country.

I don't know about the rest of the south, but here in KY you can buy a shotgun or rifle at age 18, you can buy pistols at age 21, and if you obtain the license you can buy a fully automatic rifle of any brand or variation. It doesn't matter what you prefer, you can carry all of these with a fully loaded clip/chamber in your vehicle and go wherever you please. Also, the weapons you carry don't even have to be in your name as long as they are not stolen and you can carry your pistol wherever you go (as long as they don't have a sign in front saying you can't have weapons on you). It may not be glamorous (by a long shot!), but Kentucky is a great state to live in if you enjoy your second amendment rights.

though you can enter the service at 17 and go into a War zone at 18 and kill or die then come home and not be allowed to own a handgun until your 21 still.
neat huh?
18 big enough boy or girl to kill or die for the country but not to live in this country right afterwards until your 21. Makes me wonder what they really fear

Stupid kid, i was scared the action in Vietnam would be over before i could get there.. This was in 67 and while we had been there for a decade already this was right at the start of the big buildup.
Over and back, deployed to Iceland, and Spain, and in the Service for three years before i could vote..
When ever this subject comes up i feel its important to underscore that while our Squadron lost two aircraft, and 24 men.. My own exposure to hostile fire in SE Asia was limited to a couple of encounters with the Philippines PC (police constabulary) these troops would stop a jeepney, fire off a few rounds from their WWII issue Thompson's, and asses a "fine" to those Americans who were foolish enough to stray into areas deemed off limits to US personnel..
Foolish as the "green lighted" areas were paradise for any red blooded boy. a casual encounter of the physical sort was called a "Short time" nominal charge of 3-5 pesos.. the exchange rate was 4 pesos to the dollar..an all nightie was 15-20 pesos...We all tried very hard to wear "it" out.
This was in the rural area of Sangley pt.. a tiny (least from 2K on short final) peninsula of land that had one landing strip, and barely room for the one squadron at a time it hosted.. I'm told that our major base at Subic was a bit pricier, and a tad more civilized.. ie the PC charged more and only threatened to discharge their weapons..

Told me about the PC's, Short time and a few others things, then denied it to hell and back when I called the girl next door Short Time Sally when she called me a dick. I swear I did not know my Grandmother was standing on the front porch when I yelled that out across the field.

guessing this has been embellished over time.. The local Baptist church in Chillicothe ILL..
Greg stands up on the pew when the minister calls for the opening hymn.. the story has me at full and clear volume yelling out.. "WHAT"L YOU HAVE, PABST BLUE RIBBON"
This was Pabst marketing song in the early fifties.. Pop always told this story, and that i was just at the point of "clear talk".., said of all the times, i would pick that one to have diction like a shakespearean actor.. The Church of course broke up, and the hymm had to have a do over..

got to love it !
