The ranks works as described on the Rankings Info page... but it only updates every few days. For instance, right now I will update the rankings and you will see that your ranking has now moved up :).

Darth Vader illegally used the force to change his ranking to Dark Lord of the Sith (no point value can get you there), however, this has since been corrected by the site admin and he is now rightfully where he belongs at Private :).
Let this be a warning to anyone else out there thinking about cheating the system... ;)
