Sorry about your loss, we invest a lot of time in our pets and they do become part of the family. In time there will be another, and it will again have a special place in your life.

I'm very sorry about your friend. I agree; they're not just a pet. They're friends. Someone you can trust, someone you can count on to always be on your side. Many, many times they're not "like" one of the family, they ARE one of the family. This can be just as true with cats as with dogs. I've had two cats, decades apart, that were practically part of me.
When these friends die, sometimes it's worse than if you lose a family member. Some family members mean little or nothing to us. Our friends are as dear to us our ourselves.

Sorry about your loss. Loosing a friend like this is dificult, My last dog is still missed. She was part Losoapso wrong spelling I know.
One of my sweet Grand daughters, painted a portrait of her. It looks just like her, and the picture is hanging in our Livingroom.
Give it a while, then go friend shoping. You will love it. Won't near be the same personality as the other one, But will make you happy

My most sincere condolences to you for the loss of a great friend and one of the best things God made.
It took me almost 20 years to get another one after we lost our 14 yr old Irish Setter. We now have our new love a black lab mix. I am truly sorry that I waited that long. I missed out on about 20 years of unconditional love and devotion.
