great read.in the article it mentioned that the 3rd oldest naval ship was in on the operation.what is the oldest naval ship being used?

still in commission is the USS Constitution launched in 1797. The oldest modern ship is the nuclear carrier USS Enterprise, CVN-65, commissioned in 1961. It's stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.

in January of 2009. I think it's still up by my place in Bremerton in Inactive Ships. You can see it with Google Earth. Type in "Bremerton, WA" and zoom in. They painted over the hull number, so I can't tell which one it is. I think it is one of the two least-rusted ones.
Edit: Has to be second from the left because of the hull design.
