I am about to buy a new shotgun. I've been looking at the Remington 887 Nitro Mag Tactical. What are you guys' thoughts about the 887 so far? I've shot it but, I've heard that the pump doesn't fit that well on some of them, and that the magazine tube and serial number plate aren't coated in that ArmorLokt coating.
Let me know something guys.
I mean, the pump not fitting really tight isn't a huge ordeal to me, but the magazine tube and serial plate part not being coated in that ArmorLokt coating, meaning scratches or anything could cause rust eventually, I don't really like that. However, how many other shotguns are almost completely coated in something like this that will almost 100% prevent rust? Also, the plastic feel doesn't bother me at all. Right now I'm using my Mossberg Maverick. But, it's too long and too heavy for me to feel that I could get it up and around really easily for home defense. Which is why I'm wanting the lighter/shorter Remington 887 NM Tactical. Plus, I plan on buying a light to mount on the side rail & will be mounting shell holders on the left side of the body and an elastic shell holder on the stock. I've already got the elastic one on my Maverick. It is a 6 shell holder since mine is a 5+1.
Thanks for any input guys,
