From what I have heard and for the money you are better off buying the DPMS rifle's instead of the Remington. DPMS is $300 to $600 cheaper and a better rifle.

R-15 info

fordvg is right you can buy any other AR15 and be better off. A good freind got caught up in the buying frenzy when the Messiah won the election. He bought a R-15 and hates it, and I have shot it and feels cheep and flimsy at best. Their pretty camo you can stratch off with a finger nail. He has yet to find ammo that feeds properly, and the accuracy is not great either. You could buy a bottom shelf AR and get two times the gun.

I have one in .308 and its not at all what it has been discussed as. the trigger pull is a common feel. the camo is mossy oak and it feels like it weights ten pounds but its definetly a deal for me. i have been trying to find the perfect sights for it. i have looked at all sorts of scopes. Any suggestions?
