response time

Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a .40 cal round is in the range of 1200 Feet
Per Second.

I agree with Ironhead

two in the chest and one in the head make a criminal good and dead. Call a coroner then the cops.

Last summer I was coming from my brothers house who lives about a mile up the road from me, As I passed the house down the road from me, I see a guy laying face down in the gravel drive way with his head covered in blood. I stop my truck, jump out and run to check on him. He's very intoxicated, and has several pill bottles in a plastic bag laying beside him. I immediatly call 911 from my cell and talk to the dispatcher. I identified myself, gave her the address where I was at and asked for the police and an ambulance. She spent 20 minutes on the phone with me asking questions about who the guy was, I had no idea as the house he was at was empty and noone had lived there for over a year. I ended up searching the guy for id all the while he was bleeding. I ended up running over to my house, getting my response bag and running back to the house.
1 hour and 22 minutes later, a state police officer shows up. gets out of his car and walks over to me and askes, who is he. Being that I didn't know and really didn't care at this point. I stated who really cares, just get me an ambulance. 22 minutes after the cop arrived. an ambulance pulls up and takes this guy to the hospitol.
It turns out that he was a pill head who had a disagreement with others of his kind and that they had beat him half to death. I hate pill heads but at that time, I had no idea who he was and my first concern was saving a life.
I asked around and this seems to be the average for response time. Just one more reason to carry a weapon and a cell phone. Granted I do live far from town, but when I was a Police officer, We had these things called lights and sirons on our cars that made noise and had flashing light we used when there was an emergency call so we could go fast. Enough of my rantings.
