Ruger Mini 14
Anybody have/use one? America is not at war. The U.S. Military is at war. America is at the Mall. If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE feel free to stand in front of them!

and i like it just fine,it is the ranch rifle version with the wood stock, but magazines are spendy, about 35.00 each.
They are not target rifles i guess as some people here complain about accuracy, but i have killed about a dozen deer with mine over the years.

Talk to runawaygun on the Mini14. They have a big problem holding a grouping as soon as the bbl gets warm.

Thats what alot of people say but I found a gunsmith that makes a barrel that cures this I'm looking at a real nice used one for about $300- and the barrel conversion is around $400. Just wondering about dependability/ does it jam alot not like certain ammo.

different from the Mini 14 Ranch rifle. ryo remember researching the Target rifle after you show really kewl set of picture about it. it have beautiful bullpup style with long slender stock and barrel and that curious device on it that is harmonic tuner rather than suppressor like ryo first thought. remember reading very good article about this rifle and this man who wrote the article was describing consistent very fine groupings using the barrel tuning device.
would be very interest in answers to these, because this is first commercial style rifle ryo is considering adding to tiny little collection.

Hey Little Dragon I would be interested in that too. From what I could tell from the website is that this barrel is suppose to do the same thing
LittleDragon
have never really look into it. but when Ojiisan, that is samD, show the pictures of the Mini 14 Target Rifle a few month ago, ryo was fascinate, because A. it bullpup and you ask anyone on this site who know little ryo and they will tell you just how fascinate ryo is by bullpup style rifle. B. it have this beautiful woodgrain finish to the stock and C. it have this long slender barrel ryo found very curious because was concern that the barrel was too slender for either safety or accuracy, then finally D. it have most very curious device on end of barrel that look like suppressor, but was not suppressor. this device is in fact a harmonic tuning device that can control the vibrations of the long slender barrel especial as it get hotter from being fire. ryo wonder about this, cause if it really work then it most very excellent rifle and would be the kind of rifle ryo would want to add to very tiny collection that include only 3 rifle and 2 pistol. ryo could maybe find this article for you in a day or so cause it not on this computer. it on nother computer that ryo not have ready access too.

I've seen them but not shure how well it would work. It is a cool looking rifle my problem out here in mass is what is actually leagal to buy. I can't order a laser bore sight off the internet, but I can pick one up at walmart. Go figure thats the way it is in the land of Ted K.

state to state about firearms. ryo would have thought that the full faith and credit clause of the Constitution would apply, but apparently not. so ryo is as mystify as can get about such thing. however, the Ruger Mini 14 Target Rifle is not a military class rifle of any kind other than it fire the commercial version of the M16/M4 round, which in military form is 5.56mm x 45mm, however the Ruger Target Rifle fire the commercial version of this round call the .223 caliber round. it very very similar to the military version but is not quite the same. think you be ok buying this rifle in mass. but am not expert in law of course so am not sure. just know that this is a match class target rifle, (barely qualifying for this, but even so)and is not intended to copy or be useful in any way at all as a military type rifle. hope this help some.

I've had two, both were ranch rifles, and both sucked. They worked fine with factory mags, but if I used aftermarket mags, I could count on malfunctions about every third round, no matter what brand the mags were. I understand having a bad example of a gun, which is why I bought the second one. But the same problem with two guns is enough for me. I'll pay the extra loot for ARs.
luckybychoice
have you seen the Ruger SR up close yet?
runawaygun762
But it's too expensive for my needs. I won't pay 2,000 or more for an AR unless it's select fire. My Bushmaster does just fine and I couldn't justify spending that much
luckybychoice
here for 1400,and my old AR mags will work in it.I brought one along for trying it out,now do you have the eotech 512?i might as well get a sight i can fuck around with...
cbxjeff
I have two. One is a ranch & the other a AC556. I've had no problems with feeding and groups are OK but not in the AR league. Mags are another story. Don't waste your money on after-market (at least that's what I found). I looked for factory hi-caps for about 4 years and could find none at any price. About 1 1/2 years ago C.T.D. had factory 20 & 30 rnd ones and I bought a bunch. They weren't cheap - I think over $50.00, but I figured this was my last chance to get any. Still think that.
