Ryo was so proud this morning helping carry rifles and equipment out to car. Ryo carried his own rifle in the case out to car along with own equipment and ammunition.
We drove to the range, which is a good half hour drive from where we live in the city. When we arrived, for the first time in life ryo got to stand in line with my pops and little brother to sign in as shooter and receive my first Ok to Shoot, card. Our pops have to cosign for self and little brother as responsible adult. Even so it was very special moment for self in life.
Ryo has responsibilities at the gun range as self work as Junior Range Master there and so could not shoot right away and so went about regular duties until the Senior Chief Range Master discover that Ryo have and Ok to Shoot card, and he is long time most very excellent friend. He was amazed that Ryo had not ask for time to go shoot. But ryo like duties at range and knew there would be plenty of time later. My friend the Senior Range Master told me to come with him and we went to find my pops and little brother. When we caught up with them at the 1200 meter range, he and my pops stood off to the side and talked for a couple of minute.
Then my pops turn to ryo and say to get rifle and equipment and to come with him and my friend. We walked over to the .22 caliber range for the under 18 age group and was told to find a good place and set up.
Pops and the Range Master helped me set up and then when the Range Safety Officer walked by, self proudly handed him my card. He looked at my pops who nodded ok and then he sign card, and then ryo signed the Shooter on line sheet for first time in life. The Range Safety Officer handed my card back. Ryo will keep this card as a little treasure for the rest of life.
This was the first time ever to shoot. Pops demonstrate basic different position and ryo start with standing position. Targets were set at 175 feet and ryo hit target with all 4 rounds in magazine, very first time. As morning went on and self continue to shoot, tried different size magazines and different scope and different position. Surprise that best grouping of day was from kneeling position and put 9 of 10 round in 3 inch square from this position.
Had the time of my life! Shooting for sport is most very excellent thing.
