The good the ol 3rd generation series smith&wesson all steel models they were the best of their time. I owned a 4506 45ACP try and find one of them these days. The ugly, walthers p99 series good guns accurate and decent quailty. Beretta's couger series are under rated. fine firearms if anybody has acutually shot one. M9, well we all now about them. Rugers; fine, rugged, and durable and can't beat them for the money. I have owned and or shot these extensibly. Any one else???

my opinion

of the 5 makes listed... i have only owned glock, S&W, and ruger. depends on what your pice range is. my personal opinion, you can never go wrong with a glock. tough, rugged and reliable. if I were going to purchase an automatic S&W it would definately be a M&P (I would't buy any other S&W auto, again this is just my preference.) I had a ruger p89 and never had any problems with it, I just liked the feel of other weapons better, but if you are on a budget, rugers are gonna run a little less. I've never been a beretta fan. I love their automatic shotguns for hunting, but never really liked their handguns. Walther... because of the price, I always start comparing them to sigs, which I love. Its really gonna come down to what feels good in your hands and how much money you want to spend. you may be completely different than me in your preference. go to a range and try them all out.
