Saiga AK - Question for Reaper
Reaper - Didn't you buy one of these? I was wondering how you liked it and had a question. If this country goes to Hell the way it is heading has this gun been modified to the point that it will not accept "standard" AK parts from donors should it break. I am looking for several AK's and have read about the good and the bad. There is just so much info and so many manufactures it is almost overwhelming. I am realigning my inventory which will be selling the HK41 and purchasing 2 AK's and a replacement 308. That should still leave me a little cash to pay my taxes. I appreciate the help. Thanks. Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth. Thoreau |

I didn't buy a saiga. I was a little worried about the conversion myself. I looked at them for a while, but decided to go with the Lancaster 3060 on my last AK. I think Arsenal and Lancaster make decent saiga conversions, but I personally wouldn't trust some of the cheaper conversion rifles. I'm really happy with my Lancaster 3060, its really good quality, but runs a little more expensive than some other brands. Its a little more solid than my Bulgarian. If you're worried about replacement parts, I would buy something that uses the standard AK platform as you mentioned.

Any words of enlightenment here? You only have 3,428 AK's...

Manu, I bought an Arsenal Saiga conversion and I like it alot. It takes all standard mags. I bought several differnet ones from differnt manufacturers and they all work. But, Reaper is right, Nitris is the man to talk to about these things.

here's a little instruction on what Arsenal does.

Lancasterarms has a very good rep. There good and have a good warranty on there work.
If you buy either from Atlantic firearms and there is a problem they will make sure it's fixed.

Thanks guys. I have never owned one and there is a lot of info and manufactures/importers out there. I'll post a pic as soon as I decide and have the cold steel in my hands.
