that some poeple think the ACR(Rem.) or (FN) SCAR's would probably be the next combat standard rifle.....All I've seen is that the HK 416 is being field tested,by special forces(already issued to Delta forces and others as well others) as the standard combat rifle,at the moment and the ACR would probably be the next sniper rifle.All reviews I have seen are promising.
Although Knight's XM110 seems to be the front runner at the moment.It is being field tested by troops now.Haven't seen enough reviews on this weapon yet to get good performance review.
The HK 416 operates well in adverse enviroments and is a cleaner shooting due to the new piston driven ejection system.The ACR is automatic as opposed to bolt action,therefore being able to put more rounds down range and can easily be field converted to different calibers for a wider variety for combat situations.Not sure about all specs and highlights on the XM110.
