why ask this question. If you have a hard on for Glocks, keep your Glock. If you want me to ask a specific question about comparisons, then re-word it so i can have a constructive and open discussion with the representatives from the companies.

Mosquito's,

Clint, mine isn't even responding to the CCI velocitor ammo any more, I quit taking it to the range. I was going to give it to snake for his 21st but in light of recent events I think I will keep it as a paper weight. Maybe if you could touch apon that and see what they say?

Manual specs

CCI velocitor, I went the rounds with coolbreeze9mm on this subject as he wrote a shining review on the mosquito. So that you know, I have swapped out recoil springs between the two supplied and tried everything that I can think of short of tear down and clean after each mag, I don't have time for that, when I drive 60 miles to the range, I am there to shoot, not fuck around with an ill tempered .22....lol

I considered getting

a Mosquito untill I heard about the problems, so if you do find out anything the problems and how to fix them that would be awesome!

For the record,

I have tried every brand of ammo through this thing that I could get my hands on in town and nothing seems to work (a dude at work is loving it, he get's all of the ammo that doesn't work), it will cycle a mag, maybe two and then the honeymoon is over......FTF, FTE and every other failure that you can think of..........I have a $350 paper weight....wana buy it?

ebear i have the

Walther pk380 and love the damn thing. With the arthritis in my hands it doesn't hurt to shoot like the larger calibers did. Looking for something a little smaller for summer carry/back up. I know people will argue about it's not a large enough caliber for ccw, but I've always believed shot placement over everything else. Was looking at the new S&W Bodyguard380 but have been reading horror stories about the triggers messing up.

Thats what I'm seeing

in the reports on the S&W site. Problems with the triggers and lasers quiting. I liked it because it came with the laser and thats why I was looking at them. Might wait awhile and see if they can fix the problems.

Bodyguard issues fixed

I've shot a few of these including the 38 and both are great shooters and no probelms to speak of at this point in time.

Kahr's actually are coming down in prices depending on where you look. Budsgunshop.com is one place I would seriously consider if you are not worried about purchasing on line.

I have had several large transactions with Bud's Gun Shop. IMO they are top notch to do business with, and probably have the best prices findable on the big ciberspace market.

I have reasons for the things I do, just don't expect them to be reasonable

Sooo...

The pistol comes with two recoil springs, one is for not so hot rounds and the other for hotter rounds. If ya have a problem with the ammo your shooting put the other spring in and try it out.

The only serious problem Sig has with that junk metal wonder it the slides.

It is made with a sand casting pot metal which tends to crack at the face of the frame beginning at the dust cover straight up. When it does this it throws the chunk of slide out onto the range about 20 feet and your left with crap.

Send it back to Sig they fix it by putting the same damn type slide on it and after 3 - 4 thousand rounds, maybe a bit more or less, it will do the same damn thing all over again. My brothers has been back to Sig for 3 slides now....

They could fix everything if they would use hardened aluminum bar stock to make the slide like they do for the Full size convertible models.

So, yes Sig has it's dog and it's name is Mosquito...

sure

1. Is the SIG P230 easily converted to DAO? I like that little poodlegun but I detest DA/SA?

2. Heard that another company has taken over production of the P210 (Hammerli?)....true?

3. Price/availability of SIG P220DAK to LE?

I used to know a local SIG rep but after our agency went to Glocks I've lost touch with him.

thanks

Kirk was the rep that got our arson task force their GSRs (which ain't working well BTW); before that Corky Grundig came out and did the show when we were eval'ing pistols for general issue.

We are undergoing a change of admin, and I am pushing to go back to the "carry what you shoot best" policy (basically if it's a duty 40/45, Glock/SIG then it's a go). If that goes through i know several guys who will wanna go back to their 220, or get a new one.

GSR's

yeah the first runs of GSR's had some real issues. Though now they have them running fine. I'd stick with the 220 or 226 if either was an option as they are more natural pointing for me.

I really like the 229 40. Elite with or without rail, though prefer without rail for personal use.

You would think that all departments would allow a selection of approved firearms in a standardized caliber or two..

I would bet that hit ratio's would increase by leaps and bounds. I also think they would ensure that firearms skills would be top notch.
