Sent to me by a friend, but Damn good advice
GOOD TO KNOW! When I had my gangrene gallbladder taken out and spent 10 days in the hospital for what should have been an overnight stay the insurance company kicked me out. I had home nurse visits for two weeks and was asked if I had guns in the house. I respond that if I did I would not tell them. So the below has some merit. FYI, I am passing this along... there are comments from two other people I have also been asked if we keep guns in the house. The nurse just kinda slipped it in along with all the other regular questions. I told her I refused to answer because it was against the law to ask. Everyone, whether you have guns or not, should give a neutral answer so they have no idea who does and who doesn't. My doctor asked me if I had guns in my house and also if any were loaded. I, of course, answered yes to both questions. Then he asked why I kept a loaded gun close to my bed. I answered that my son, who is a certified gun instructor and also works for Homeland Security, advised me that an unloaded, locked up gun is no protection against criminal attack. The Government now requires these questions be asked of people on Medicare, and probably everyone else. Just passing this along for your information: I had to visit a doctor other than my regular doctor when my doctor was on vacation.. One of the questions on the form I had to fill out was: Do you have any guns in your house?? My answer was None of your damn business!! So it is out there! It is either an insurance issue or government intervention. Either way, it is out there and the second the government gets into your medical records (as they want to under Obamacare) it will become a major issue and will ultimately result in lock and load!! Please pass this on to all the other retired guys and gun owners... Thanks. From a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer: I had a doctors appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions: The nurse then informed me that if I had answered yes to any of the questions I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security. Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner, veteran or not, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them. Be very cautious about what you say and to whom. They are coming for us, so unless you're an ostrich, do not stick your head in the sand.......... |

says it's a fiction.
See "Veteran Gun Warning"
After all the Doctors and medical sign-up people [ 2 hospitals] I talked with since last March, I figured that was the kind of question to look out for-------
Not a hint of any interest showed up!! However, I was prepared to out-question them, and drive them to distraction, if necessary.

I haven't been able to spend my normal GS time of late, and glad your here today Dave.. with you on not being asked in any of our "abudent" trips to see doc types..
doc stuff you will appreciate, G is having her tyroid out (med term cashectomy) mid oct.. our "cutter" is a guy with four last names and a diplomate of more med schools than i have fingers and toes.. bit of a prima dona type, but has trained at Oxford so...
doc skippy orders tests for G.. doc skippy is in Scottsdale (land of milk, honey & $) one of those nuke four hour things.. so i find a place here in sun city thats not only an hour and a half closer, but close enough we can come home durring the four hours.. this was just a matter of calling other imaging places and giving them the test info numbers.. get back with skip's office, and ..nope.. seems "doctor" has "special" tests that are included in Scottsdale.. bs of course, collusion etc.. but im not going to call foul for obvious reasons..

Yeah, it figures. But I understand why you're sticking w/ skippy. When G's all healed up and out of the woods, then kick him in the nuts.

Got ya Jim im thinking when the "tyroid" (couldn't edit stick an h in there somewhere) gets fixed G will be feeling like a new person, and a kick is not needed.. gives me thoughts tho.. whats that deffinition of stress again.. something like "needing to and being able to stomp someone and see some fools taping you for utube"..
Not very Christian of me huh.. let me back up here as we have some folks in prayer... First off thank God your Sons ok.. prayer works huh.. yep and the following could use it..
Daisy.. Lew said he didn't want to let that out yesterday, just sorta overwhemed i guess.. His wife Stella is undergoing her surgery tomorrow.. (today by the time i get this typed) Pretty sure he's going to be on and tell us whats up.. i know all of us feel the same way here.. our prayer our needed and appreciated by Lew and Stella
Vaquero's friend (George).. a neighbor of Lee's.. this ones bad new's and i guess just a matter of days.. He got his son a job with the firm he works for and has a lot of love/respect for the old boy.. neat thing about prayers is 1) they really are heard 2) not much needed except the prayer .
anybody else have prayer needs please post them or if you don't want it out "front" here..send me a pm..

I will say prayer for all...and may they all be answered.

"Do you have any guns in the home?"
"No, I do not."
I have pistols and rifles. lol

"Do you have any guns in the Home?"
"Well, that is a very interesting question. Let's discuss how the answer--one way or the other-- is relevant to the diagnosis/treatment decisions that may be derived on my behalf?"
"By the way, Doctor, do you have any guns at home?"
Saint J.M. Browning
Even better.

Fuck you.....hows that.

interesting thing here is we're all smart enough.. ok you guys are.. not to talk about how many pieces we have.. we all know.. others don't get it, so it's a non issue.. i will say the following, and make a bet im not alone in this one..with the exception of my range bag, none of the pistols are unloaded, can't say the same for the rifles, but our "home" rules simple: if it's a pistol it's loaded..
range bag is an edicate thing, i've said before that the range i go to has a carry policy so guns can be brought in loaded.. my cary piece is, but i keep those in the range bag unloaded..
so any guns.. hmm "get a door, get a gat".. that sound familure to you guys, works out well with the grandkids who haven't gone vertical yet.. home security around here means a gun close to all doors, and the closest book case or cabinet is a great place to keep those "seldom used" pistols.. i would bet money that we all have the same night security, i like to wake up to abnormal noises.. SCREAM LIKE AN 8 YEAR OLD and have Gloria take care of the issue.. Night time means something we all think and i would guess train (least on some levils) for.. The day time stuff is diffrent, i've found most UPS guys don't like the gun in the chest door answer, yet it's nice to have something close.. works for me anyway..

did not get asked these questions exactly but i did get asked:
Do i ever feel depressed no
am i abused at home no
how much do i drink little if any
did not get asked the gun questions, and my answer really would of been Fuck you if they had.Wonder if these questions are for the Iraq/Stan guys.It would be interesting to hear from one of them.

to turn your head and cough?
I think the military is finally really fed up with the Caliph in Sheik at our house...
samD
Agreed. I now have that shottie bed holder and it is loaded also. Big rifles in locked closet. Pistol loaded at all times and generally on my person (me) or never an arms length away.
When little grandkids come down then only gun out is the one in my pocket. Rest are loaded in locked closet. Which I have the only key for. Just me.
DEMO
I was questioned while taking my daughters to the doctor for check ups. My wife was embarrassed and said no. But what the fuck?
In the future my answer is no
Jeffashbyjr
hasn't asked me, but the one that does my adjustments on my band asked me one time why I had an empty holester in my waistband, to which I answered its empty because ya'll have that stupid shoot us sticker on the windows( you know the one with circled pistol with the line through it)
