Shot a Sig P210-6 Target tonight !! woohoo!
Larry brought in two different pistols I hadn't shot yet tonight and both will cause me to loose sleep! Sig 220 SS Elite in 9 mm Sig P210-6 Target... One of the Original ones from the early 70's not one of the newer remakes. Other than the dang Euro mag release it was pure perfection. I really can not think of anything that compares to it... I NEED ONE! the 220 was really sweet also, but not in the same class by far as the 210... No sir, he fell into that bullet...
Never argue with a stupid person. They'll just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!! |

whats the difference between 220 elite 9x19 and the 226 elite 9x19?
Saint J.M. Browning
About $50. lol rimshot
My understanding is the p226 is basically just a double stack p220
Reaper308
I don't think they make the 220 9x19 anymore... switched all of the .40 and 9mm to the 226/229 frames and kept the 220 for .45ACP. I've just never seen a 220 other than .45. I bet you're right that the 220 9mm is single stack
Ishootdaily
Yeah it is a Single Stack which is kinda eh, when your talking about a 9 mm or even a 38 Super with a pistol that large. I shot a 220 in 38 Super which shot like any Sig, nice, but odd ball round unless your going to load for it.
The one Larry has is one of the German made Sig and the 210 was actually Swiss made.
I think all of the non-45 cal 220's are German made?
There are a couple of Sig's I haven't shot yet, but I can honestly say that the 210 is the BOMB.
You can actually pick up the 9, 357 and 40 P 220's now and then. I want more than anything a 226 Elite 40/357 SS with the 16 round LEO mags and C/T grip's.

Browning imported the SIG220-pattern pistol as the Browing BDA a long while back (Sonny Crockett is seen with one in some of the early Miami Vice episodes).
The SIG P220 pattern has been produced in 9mmP, .45acp, .38 Super, and a very small run (possibly an aftermarket/custom job) in 9x23 Winchester.
The 210 is a truly classic pistol...if you have the $$ it should be on any short must-buy list for high-grade handguns. The last few iterations (current P210s are made by Hammerli if memory serves) are offered with US-style mag catches.

Yeah I actually have shot the BDA before and it's the same for sure. Though I'd rather the Sig over the Browning for shooting, the Browning would be put up.
The Legacy 210 is Swiss made again (Hammerli) with US Mag Release which means it is a viable comp gun for IPSC and IDPA.
I'd like to pick up a Mauser M2 (Sig 45acp) for Concealed Carry, that or a 220 carry me thinks.
Also would like to shoot a P220 10mm from Gray Guns. Bruce Gray made up a number of the by custom order.

10mm SIG 220.....drool......there are also H&K USP custom jobs in 10mm too. Either of those would be a great pistol.
