Damn right we should worry, but what else do we paranoid gun owners do best, except shoot. I really think he will have problems with this one, as long as the Supreme Court stays balanced as it is. If the Supremes get the Liberal Power in then we could have problems, but then again, he will need to be re-elected. It will be done incrementally like they have always usurped power, slowly one step at a time. Look it took them 60 years to get someone like this elected to the Presidency, so as you can see they are in no rush. Only fools rush in.

Good afternoon everyone I am very new here but I am very concerned with a situation that I have created for myself. I, have in the past, made decisions which have allowed me the lose my right to bear arms. Although the events have occured well over ten years ago, I want to find out about regaining my right once again. I am a firm believer of protecting my home and family in any situation that arises. I am curious if anyone has ever in the past been in trouble with the law and has regained the priviledge to bare arms? And if so how did you go about doing so? What steps were taken?

My thoughts is he will not demand an outright ban on guns, because he does not want an uprising, which he knows would happen. He will ban new sales of ARs and semis, he will try to abolish CCWs. The big thing is taxing ammo out of the price range of the average citizen.

These Libs are coming for your weapons. They are going right down the list that Carl Marx wrote in the Communist Manifesto, in order to take over a government. Happwife is right. They will take your rights a little at a time. Small things that don't seem to be too important...ie. smaller capacity clips, no more assault rifles, no more full auto's. Things that don't impact all gun owners. Then they will take something else. They will make it tougher to get CCW's. Longer waiting periods. More strengent background checks. Past records will come into play, such as traffic violations, past due payments, things of that nature. They will find anything that sounds logical, to misinform the public that they are looking out for our protection and these pesky traffic violators must be stopped from owning guns. I know that sounds funny, but what ever they use as an excuse will sound just as amusing, except it won't be a joke. My advice is to join the NRA, write to your congressman, make some noise! Don't let them take anything away without a fight. Ted Nugent said it best..."Anyone who would want to be disarmed and defenseless must be from the Planet of the Apes!"

Advice to all (I'm sure you don't need it), but pick up a copy of "God, Guns, and Rock N Roll" by 'Uncle' Ted Nugent.

NY sucks from a redneck point of view. This state has the toughest laws in American. It seems like each time California does something more restrictive, NY one ups them. I have a CCP- but its against the law to carry it. If I am hunting or target shooting its legal. If I have the weapon on me, I must prove I am invovled in one of these activities.
How can we get any more restrictive?
But what do we do if the dem's steal our guns? I am not goping to jail,killing anyone, fighting anyone and certainly not police(who would just be doing thier jobs).

Then it sounds like you would be giving up your guns i dont see any more options if the law has been passed. only other way to stop it is write your congress ppl and join the NRA to prrevent it. and i wouldn't be too suprised if the police sided with us on this one.

His first four years won't be too bad. He will outlaw Sales of AR and tighten rules on CCW, but he still wants to be reelected. If he is reelected he will do what he can to outlaw gun ownership of any kind. He will most likely even try to stop off duty law enforcement from carrying.

You said it....dead on..But I do not think he will get reelection. His economic policies will bankrupt us. His loyal followers will realize he is not going to make thier inconvienient life any better. His energy policy will close coal mines, coal plants, regulate diesel consumption and banrupt oil companies. If he does what he wants to do gas will be $6/gallon and electricity will be triple our present rates.
Unemployment rates will increase slightly (say 7-8%) and tax burdens will skyrocket.
People will begin to understand that GWB was not that bad of a guy.....
Doesn't anyone read his website or listen to his speaches? He has verbalized and written all this shit down. He wants high energy prices so we can stop global warming....do any people correlate high prices with inflation and the lowering of our quality of living across the board?

My bet is Obama will go for the 1st ammendment 1st, then...then go for the second. First he will but a man in charge of FCC who will put "The Fairness Doctrine" in place: basically shutting down conservative broadcasting. Then, with nothing but liberal press, few will hear what is going on in government. Then he will put people in place to super-tax gun ownership with $100++ taxes on magazines, semi-autos, etc.
By the time enough of us make a stink he will have put his people in the federal courts so when we go to court to challenge constitutionality of his handy work, his "judges" will impose their will on us...
I do not think "worrying" is what we should be doing...but we should be downright concerned...and vigilent...

Hi I think obama will have his hands so full of bail outs, banks, wall street, The big 3,Iran. Russia,Iraq and all the other B.S that we may have at best two years before he gets around to the guns. I do think he will get some of his cabinet to start plans on breaking it off in us asap.I could be wrong but I can not see them altering or changing the second ammendment I think the world money crunch is on the side of the gun owner at this time. Just one major attack on America God forbid, Obama might be glad we all have guns.

I have a similar view on things with mudrat12, however B.H. Obama believes that Iran is a small insignificant country. He may have a full plate with the afore mentioned items but there are plenty of his mindless sheep willing to give him all the help they can. It's not just those that voted for him either, I have met many people who say, "Oh well, it will get better eventually." I say B.S. to that, it will only get better if those of us who are willing to make it better get to work now and be as proactive as possible. It is almost always to be proactive instead of reactive.

As far as the money crunch being on our side sounds resonable to some degree but eventually it will affect us in that we will only have enough money to buy fuel to get to work so we can buy food wich all these things will have ever increasing taxes. This is of course an opinion, and a synical one at that. Hope I haven't depressed anyone, I think I'm going to have a drink of cool-aid now. Maybe that will make it better.

He will definately be attending to more important issues (to them), but the president doesn't really have to do anything except for sign a piece of paper (along with congress) that is placed in front of him to re-implement certian firearm restrictions.

But one thing we cannot validly say is that he is a dummie. He is probably one of the most intelligent, IQ-wise, of any presidential candidate or President-Elect. And, he is a shrewd politician.

I doubt he would want to go down in history as the person who, single-handedly, precipitated the SECOND US CIVIL WAR!! IMO, THAT is what erosion of Second Amendment rights will inevitably lead to.

Obama doesn't have to do anything except toe the party line, take away our guns, and sit comfortably behind his bullet-resistant glass, kevlar-backed oval office chair, surrounded by secret service whose salaries are paid by the people who are becoming more like subjects and less like citizens.
