Sig owners?

I get about one new gun a year ,next month I will have enough to do so. There are no ranges anywhere near me that rent firearms to try them so I depend on sites like this for opinions.
So this year I would like to by a new handgun . Keeping in mind that I will use it for work . I am limited to .45,.40, or 9mm, Thus far I own a Glock 22 .40cal, and a Springfield xd .45, that I take to work . Both great sidearms. Now I'm looking into a Sig P-229 .40. All the reviews I have read on them are outstanding, but I have never fired one . Feels great to hold but that isn't a test fire.
I had helpful and honest feedback when i asked about my star .40 a while back. Looking for the same with the Sig . So put it out there especially if you carry one.

i own one

Sig 229 .40.....ummm....outstanding.its DA only...so im probably gonna switch the trigger system to a DAK..i BOUGHT A REFURBISHED ONE WITH nITE sITES. vERY EASY AND FAST TAKE DOWN FOR CLEANING. Also just the right weight...hardly any recoil. I had bought and Xd before that and it jumped like a jockey at a topless-bar.Once you shoot a Sig....you'll never forget it.....well unless you get amnigia or something.......

Sig 229.... I have one and I love it. It shoots really smoothly and is accurate. I have yet to have a jam on it. As Ebear said it's extremely easy to break down for cleaning. I hate agreeing with Ebear, but this time I have to. I think you will love it.

SIG 229

I have one and I really like it, SIG's are top quality pistols and really hold thier value well, I would highly recommend a 229 or a 226.

P229

I have 229's in 9mm and .40. They are both great. The P226 and P229 are really well made handguns. I have no complaints about them and they're my favorite to shoot. I really like the DA/SA, while others prefer DA only. I would recommend getting one

the DHS carries Sig P229R DAK. they are pretty nice... it takes some practice to get used to it if you are partial to a double single style like most people are. Holds 12 rounds for the 40 cal... I like it but I suggest saving for a HK... as always go to the range... shoot them, think about carrying it, feel it and take it from there.

I have 2 Sig P-220's (.45 ACP) and love 'em. I have smaller hands, a set of Hogue wrap around grips make this a whole lot nicer. A little off subject, I also have a Taurus 1911 and w/Hogue grips, it shoots like a dream!

Can't go wrong with one! I don't own one YET, but have shot a few..........Felt great in my hand, and great sites! Navy Seals depend on them for their sidearm........That should account for something!

I have a wide variety of handguns(Beretta,HK,Springfield,Glock,Kahr,S&W,Rossi,Colt,H&R).I think that about covers it.I always thought Sig's were overrated, just because of the facts I heard came from mouths that I didn't deem reliable. Then I shot one and I bought two.One reconditioned and one new w/threaded barrel. Both are 226's 9MM.Both are very well balanced and all the other high praises that have been previously said and more.I can't say that they are my favorite as all my weapons has it's own little special quality that makes unique for me.The one thing that does really stand out for Sig's are ease of break-down.I'm sure this has made it as clear as mud for you.Good luck in your choice,I don't think you can wrong though.
