Sig P290
Sig P290. Image from Sig Website: http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProductDetails.aspx?categoryid=70&productid=307

So, I was looking on the Sig Website and found this puppy. I don't think it's released yet, but it looks like a 9mm that is about the same size as their P238 .380 which will fit really nicely in the pocket. Here's the specs compared to the P238:

Sig P290:
9mm
Overal Length: 5.5inches
Overal Height: 3.9 inches
Width: 1.1 inches
Barrel Length: 2.9 inches
Weight: 20.50 oz

Sig P238:
.380
Overal Length: 5.5 inches
OVeral Length: 3.1 inches
Width: 1.1 inches
Barrel Length: 2.7 inches
Weight: 15.2 oz

All of this info from sig website : http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProductDetails.aspx?category...

As far as I can tell, hasn't been released yet.

I agree, glocks are

I agree, glocks are functional, they do what they should, but yes, they are ugly. I like glocks, sigs, 1911's etc etc....I'm don't discriminate, equal oppurtinity handgunner..except hi point, I segregate myself from them. That's just my choice.

and goes bang 10 times

+2 with the bottom plate extension, against the SIG P290 that holds 6-8,okay they are probably going to come out with an extension, then maybe a hi-cap mag from another SIG will fit like Glock does with their 9mm models,i can fit a 33 rd.mag in my 26,thats more bang for the buck.

this is what i carry

My shit
I just cleaned out my pockets and this is what i carry most always, the boot knife is a cheapo Remington, the folder a NRA cheapo, the clip knife,a cheapo too.The leatherman wave,i broke the bottle opener off real quick somehow, cheapo i guess.some, like the glock and scorpion flashlight i carry in my coat pocket.i have to write shit down a lot otherwise i replay it in my head nonstop, cheapo memory too.
i have since destroyed the folder and lost the pocket knife, gave up excedrin too,i have carried the .25 though to,as a BUG.

I've heard that the MSRP is around $530 w/ nightsights, and $550 for the two tone w/ night sights. Hopefully they will have a few at the show this year. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up next to the kahr. I see it weighs quit a bit more... that could be good or bad

Glocks are pretty much the AK of handguns imho.

Better than most DOA's but your screwed if the reset spring breaks. Oh and on a odd note, if it does break at the connecting loop and you turn up the first loop below the break you are going to end up with little over half the Connector weight for the trigger and it will be one fast ass reset too ...

the tears and broken dreams of 1911 owners who thought their choice was a reliable gun. That's why it's so easy to mass-produce Glocks.

To each his own I guess but I will stick with my XD and XDm, !000's of rounds through each and no problems. Just for the hell of it one day I loaded my 9 mm XDm with what ever I had brass case steel case Blazer Remington Bear ....American Russian and even some Swiss. Mixed it all up and fired away. Ate it all up like a kid eating candy. Not one jam or failure to feed. I like my Springfield's.

I just held one at the show last week. I'm not a fan of the grip at all... Deep and thin as expected with a single stack 9mm. It may work for some people.

Seems to be...

In time I'll actually get to shoot the P290 when the decision is made whether or not carry it under the counter at two different local gun shops owned by friends.

I'm betting it will be an order only item at this point...

From the sounds of it, holding a wide pack of gun would fell better...
