Not much too tell you about a Sig......they are great firearms! Don't you have the Sig .380?

I have a sig p220 and 229 and love them. Never had a problem with them and they seem to be pretty accurate. I am still waiting on my little p238, I ordered it in August!!!!

I have a P226 and two P229's (one in 9mm and the .40 is the equinox). I love the P229's. My favorite all around handgun. You won't be disappointed! Are you looking at 9mm or .40?

P229

look for the FBI trade ins. They are upgrading to .40, so they return their 9's to sig. Sig runs though them replacing warn parts and sell them pre-owned with a 1yr. warranty. I got my 9mm which was like new condition with trijicon night sites for $500.

for defense

I like .40 because it has more mag cap than .45 and more stopping power than the 9mm. I can control the "snappy" recoil for follow up shot. It just takes practice, like everything else. I think its one of the better rounds for two legged threats, along with .357 sig. I like shooting the 9mm at the range because ammo is a little cheaper. I actually bought the 9mm for my fiancee, so actually its hers, although I did pay for it and shoot it more than her.

that is the first thing i noticed the other day. this was the first time i shot .40...The recoil is very lively. My 24*97 .45 is smoother. Now my FFL dealer says that his Sig.220 as very little recoil in the .45.. i think mabey it will take me a few more trips to the range to get it down.

.40 recoil

yeah, just practice with it. I agree that .45 is smoother in a steel framed full size gun like the P220 or a 1911. my G23 is a little rowdy bastard, but I like it. poly frames don't absord recoil that great because they're so light. I just like having higher mag cap that .40 double stack mags allow for. its generally 8-10 rds. in a single stack mag of .45 VS. 13-15 rds of .40 in a double stack mag (some poly guns are an exception in .45)... I would just rather have the extra ammo and also do some real damage.
