Most handguns require a new, threaded barrel before you can install a silencer

you have to make sure they are legal in your area.they are'nt cheap either.and most companies call them suppressors.

The ATF call them regulated. In order to get one legaly you need to go thru much the same steps as you would for a machine gun. These processes take a long time and cost you more money besides the cost of the suppressor.
You need a permit for each one you may want to buy.
