Is Silicone Tape
The New Duct Tape?
A given regarding life on Earth (and beyond): You can fix — and sometimes create — almost anything, especially in the shop or on your auto, with duct tape. Indeed, duct tape helped put men on the moon.

Another given: You can't stop progress — no sir, not even regarding duct tape. Now, thanks to advanced technology, there's silicone tape that leaves you shaking your head at what it can do.

Features of silicone tape: X-treme Tape, made by Vypar Products, is a good example of a silicone-based tape that:
Can extend to three times its length
Stretch and grip around irregular shapes
Insulate current up to 8,000 volts
Stay flexible at 60 degrees below zero
Avoid melting at 500 degrees, all while withstanding attacks from fuel, solvents, acid and UV rays
Can even be used to fix leaky hoses where traditional tape won't adhere, or in hot places such as your auto's exhaust system, where it won't leave a sticky residue.

Think they sell it at Ace, Home Depot or Lowes? It looks like regular electrical tape. I may have to try some.
