I am very new to the pistol ownership, My friend and i just took our pistol coarse and are know awaiting the town permit it's been 2 weeks and it seems like months.
I would like to get a .45 for carry pistol but have no idea what to look for.
Any help would be greatful
well in class i shot afew different guns starting w/a Walther p22 which felt great for target's,a bereta 9mm,a .357 mag revolver in both single and duel action, then i shot the .45 i beleive it was a kimber, then he brought out his personal para .45 which felt really balanced.
My brother carry a Taurus .45 for his conceal weapon license. It got lifetime warranty (he said) and it very accurated for the money. For the stopping power to me i carry H&K .45 ,save money and invest on something that you comfortable with and other life depend on you.

well good luck finding a kimber below 800.00. See you got spoiled.check out the Taurus 24/7 pro..........lololol.thats what i've got.....or check out the Springfield xd..............oh yeah if you got a few extra minutes look at the ugly.Glocks.
I carry the Springfeild XD .45 and it is a great handgun. It has a 13+1 capacity, and is accurate as any other .45 I have shot. The wife even shot the gun and fell in love with it. I only paid 550 for the new gun, 2 Mags, holster, and a two mag holster. My only complaint are the holsers were kind of on the cheese side. Oh yeah it came with a gun lock that I ended up using for a lock on an outdoor shed.
Thank's for all the info guy's, Been looking into the Springfield XD .45 and it sounds like the best bang for the buck.
Great site you have here. I'm glad i found it

If you're rich, get a Glock. if you're poor, get a job and a Glock. I'm starting to come around to the idea of an XD, but I won't be selling my Glocks off just yet. 1911s are great guns if you enjoy visiting your gunsmith.
