I did some research and several countries made copies or there own versions of the sks. Here are the countries that made them:
1.Russian(DUH)
2.Chinese
3.Romanian
4.Albanian
5.East German
6.North Vietnamese
7.North Korean
8.Egyptian
9.Yugoslavian

I have a Russian one and a Chinese one. Does anybody else own any other of these(the East German, North Vietnamese, and North Korean were "war bring-backs" only).

The Egyptian one stands out because the bolt is blued, unlike all the other ones. I cant remember exactly, but either the Romanian or Albanian SKS is alot larger than the others.

I have an Albanian, which has a longer hand guard and is a little heavier. I have one of the Vietnames "wet weather" or "jungle" stocks. Two Russian, four Chinese (Norinco), which only one is totally compliant....Shhhh..
And i have five Yugo's. As for collectability, i like the Albanian. As for cosmetics, i like the Yugo. ALL are quit accurate up to about 300 yards.

If you do not stand behind our troops...please stand in front of them....

I am not really into SKS. I only have: Russian: 1949 through 1955 Tula Arsenal, also 1953 and 1954 Izhvesk Arsenal.

Albanian;

Egypt-Rashid. (If anyone counts this as an SKS varient.)

Chinese: Early Sino-Soviet;a VN bringback with spike bayonet; a Type 21; Commercial Norinco with factory AK mag well; two 16" "Paratrooper for US sales(one with AK mag, one fixed 10rd); and a limited production stamped reciever model.

Romanian.

Yugoslav: Early M.59 (made without grenade launcher)
59/66 (one with and one without the compensating holes in the launcher.)

Personally, I like the feel of the SKS a WHOLE lot better than the AK. But everyone has their opinions.
