Do any of you SKS owners know where to get 'quality' mags? My Chinese SKS didn't come with a mag when I bought it (I assumed it would come with one but assumed wrong) anyway, I bought two 30 round units that are the biggest pieces of shit that I have ever seen, they will only accept like 7 rds before binding up, don't lock securely into the weapon, required mod's to get the bolt to even close, I wouldn't let my ex-wife shoot with those mags....Okay maybe I would, certainly not any one I liked. ACE is doing good, getting to work alot. I picked up her package and took it too her yesterday. She was very excited when she opened it and said it would come in very handy. I think we are going to work on her house tomorrow & Thursday. Thanks so much guys maybe we can get her back on regular real soon.

I had 2 Pro Mag plastic ones that worked just fine.they went away with my chinese when I sold it.

Best ones I've seen so far are metal factory ones russian or yugo, can get them anywheres online, or else the tapco 20 round or less, any bigger in the polymer and all they do is jam

I agree with tellmenotherone, I have "several" tapco 20's and so far I have not had a misfeed, stove pipe or any other problems.
I avoid mags with more than 20 rounds, they really move the center of gravity so much, also hard to use a longer mag when bench rest or laying down, which I assume will be the position of choice when t.s.h.t.f.

SKS Mags: Tapco 20 rd are the only way to go!
We sell them for $16.99 and they are the ONLY ones I have ever tried that work in these rifles... I am a big SKS fan and haev tried ALOT of them!

I have had my Chinese mfg. SKS for 15 years, Tried lots of different mags, both steel & polymer, of varying capacities.The only ones that ever worked great every time are the Tapco 20 rounders that I now own 4 of. They have all fed hundreds of rounds without a hitch.

I had a gunsmith bore out the bottom of the breach so it was more slanted going from the top of the clip to the bottom of the barrel, also I had to make a bracket on my after market folding stock so the clip would stay in durring high rates of firing..I could show you if intrested..
