Slide Fire Solutions AR15 Bumpfire-stocks
The other day a former police officer who taught my CCW class came into the shop, and was talking about a stock for AR15s that is a bump fire mechanism but actually works good, and is basically the closest thing to full auto without having a Class III license. The stock is made by Slide Fire Solutions and is quite impressive. I would have to say, I am not a big fan of bump firing from the hip like you see so many idiots do all over youtube but this is a whole different breed of bump firing. It is a stock that you can adjust, but you just push forward and bang bang bang. You can bumpfire while standing in normal firing position and while looking down your sights. Its pretty sweet, Im considering getting one. An ATF approval letter comes with each stock. Heres some links to videos on you tube and their website, let me know what you guys think. http://www.slidefiresolutions.com/Product-SSAR-15.html ~Sig Sauer 516 Patrol 5.56 NATO~HK45 .45 ACP~HK45c .45 ACP~HK P30L 9mm~HK P30 .40 S&W~W. eh... another toy with a price tag.
VernDog
Hey, this is actually an unsafe firing condition.

I bought one... Fun as Hell!!! Now just need the .22 conversion so I can afford to shoot it. Burn thru a 30rnd mag in under 3 seconds.

Yes, the BATFE have approved it as of now... but as others have stated (and I agree) all it takes is one sign of a pen and all of the slide fire stocks will become illegal and must be surrendered. If I remember right, they're around $400, right? I admit they would be fun, but more of a novelty. I would definitely not put one on my primary rifle, but rather on something just to have fun with at the range. Would you really want that on your 516? I have a feeling the novelty and cost of a mimic FA would wear off soon and probably not be worth the initial cost of the stock, but who knows... everyone is different. My overall opinion is that it would be fun for a toy (as I don't have need for suppressive fire), but its over priced and the BATFE's authority to criminalize them when ever they like scares me. If you do end up getting one, I would like to know how it performs.

As long as they aren't made illegal, I can prob sell it once the cool factor goes away and recoup most of my money.

I shot Billy's second SR556 he put this on and it was a blast. But hell he owns a compant that services a fleet of long haul car transporters and an Import shop that works on Lambo's and such so he can afford it.
To play around with it until it becomes more of a pain in the ass to put on and take off than fun and then sell should be workable.
Hell even in combat I would be set on semi and not full auto. Running out would be the biggest factor and not wanting to hump enough to last for longer than 30 minutes would be another.

If you had a choice.... one of the main reasons we came out with the A2 was because 3 round bursts were so much more manageable than straight FA... not to mention it doesn't over heat as fast
Reaper308
how much did yours cost?
Ishootdaily
...

If it was under a couple hundred, I might be tempted to play with one... but for $400 (if I remember correctly) I'll pass. That type of money will be better going towards another bang stick.

And to be honest, even when I was in combat, never put my weapon on burst. I can fire a controled pair fast enough and a lot more accurately.

Yea after some stuff you guys have said not sure about it. It just looks like hell a fun but between costs of ammo and all that shit, im probably better off without it. it would be nice to have in the closet as a SHTF option though. Just in case. But yeah, 400 bucks for a dust collector probably is not such an economical decision right now.
clintlebo
$400 dollar dust collectors only came in the style of exercise machines...that was pretty funny HK45.

thats what my exercise machine is! haha.
Ishootdaily
yeah we have a couple here like that also, oh!
Yard sale, time for some gun money!
tallguy007
sounds like fun like to have one but $400 plus ammo and the cleaning your AR WELL!!!!
ronin1604
What do you mean cleaning??? Your supposed to clean these things??? WTF? Why didn't anyone tell me that? No wonder it doesn't shoot right. LOL!
Ishootdaily
all jokes aside, The Ak74 I traded for. The guy claims the damn thing is key holing every round. I asked him if he cleaned it and he tells me yeah he did.
I make the trade at the range and take it into the back room. Pull the muzzle brake and a crap load of build up falls out in hard chunks from between the crown and where the threads start. There is also a half moon of the crap hardened on the edge of the crown. I clean it all off and put it back together, take it out and pop a couple of rounds into a self seal block no key hole.
LOL, so I took it down to the rifle range and the thing is dead on out at 150 yards with no key holes at all in 300 rounds. makes ya wonder...
lol
ronin1604
What you trade for it? I have a slightly modified AK myslef. I love it.... GREAT ranch gun...

I tried this and it took a mag or so to get the hang of how you have to hold the weapon...
We attempted to contact this manufacturer to become a distributor, not a dealer but distributor mind you with the buy in that usually follows... We are going on 8 years in business and growing sales in all 50 states and this company does not even return our request for information.
It would not surprise me if the ATF does in fact outlaw this device as they did with the last company that attempted to sell them.
Buy one and have fun with it, but make sure you stay up on the changing laws so when they are forced to recall them you are not the guy that did not know it was then made illegal. These types of things are always a gray area in my humble honest opinion... We would have sold them though, but the question would still be for how long.
