that thing sure looks fun, but for $370 plus their $25 buffer tube, its pretty expensive. Not to mention, I wouldn't put that on my primary AR. It would have to go on an extra rifle. I'd like to play with it, but don't really have the need for suppressive fire right now.... maybe in the future

I didn't see them in stock at SOG. Did I miss something? The prices I mentioned are from Slide Fire's website.

Yes - new to us - will be on website shortly.

It is approved by ATF - at this time - not much that alters anything that might prompt a reconsideration of the approval since it is your finger pull that fires each round. We'll see.

Our price is $399.

I got one...

Fired for first time today. Works EXACTLY as described. Major downside.... You have no idea how fast you will burn through 300 rounds of ammo. LOL!

We got to talking one day about the Stock and they ended up getting one. Instead of one getting it first and talking with the others, the each went out and bought one.

Now all three are loaning them out to everyone who wants to try it out before buying one. All say it is a fun toy and something to kick around the dirt with. Graig is going to try it with his 22 conversion though we question if it will work or not with it not having any recoil to ride on....

I would also be worried about functioning with a .22LR conversion. Do they claim to work with .22's?

The opinion of our guys here at SOG is pretty much as what you all are saying - the recoil and/or the lack of, is definitely a question for the .22's. Nobody however, customer or employee, has tried it to date in order to answer the question. We do have them at SOG, very fast seller currently have only left handers but right handers are on the way here; Typically selling at $369 w/o tube and most of our buyers have been using the stock with commercial tubes.

http://www.slidefiresolutions.com/FAQ.html

-Is the SSAR-15 compatible with 22 Caliber Conversion Kits?

The SSAR-15 was designed for an AR-15 utilizing 5.56x45mm ammunition. Through the R&D process we have successfully operated the SSAR-15 using 9mm, 7.62x39mm, 6.8 SPC II, 300 AAC Backout, and numerous other calibers. Although SFS has not used the SSAR-15 with a 22LR AR-15; some customers have had success using a nice crisp trigger and CCI mini mags to produce enough recoil,

So they claim, but, I still want to see it done.....

I would bet money the most potent .22LR (CCI Stingers come to mind) wouldn't budge the stock.

Shot Billys and Graigs. One was installed on a SR556 and the other was installed on an SBR.

Neither were close to shooting 3 round burst or full auto as far as distance and accuracy are concerned. Then again it shouldn't be really. Close up it could be considered functional but beyond 30 feet I would rather depend on my finger speed and putting rounds where I want them instead of spraying with the toy.

If the 22 does work it would be a fun toy to play with now and then if not, it would eat up ammo imho which isn't something I'd want to fund over and above the initial outlay for the stock...

But that just me, I'm sure some who do buy it and use it enough will get the grouping down tight enough to consider it functional beyond an oddity..

mmm, guess I see it like the hand crank some put on the 10/22...
