Reaper308
sure, what do you want to know?
dystubenrauch
how many people make it and do you have to have served before you go or can you go rite after training?
Reaper308
depends what branch you are interested in. In the usmc, for instance... you have to complete boot camp. Then you can go to a MOS school. It depends on how many applicants they are accepting at that particular time. Most will not pass. I think they only offer two courses per year, but I may be wrong. the scout sniper course is broken down into three sections. Marksmanship, observation, stalking. you will be tested in each area and expected to finish in the top percentile of your class. Just to let you know, everyone and their dog wants to take the course, so getting accepted could take a while.

I saw a show on the military ch. called sniper school. seems easy on t.v. but i would recommend that you hone your shooting and stalking, ect at home and target ranges the sighn up for sniper school.
danielbryant27
what have you found best to steady the hand.
Reaper308
blow your load. joking.... but kind of serious too.
it all comes down to breathing. You have to lower your heart rate and get into a zone. this usually takes a minute of controlled deep slow methodic breaths and concentration.
danielbryant27
so just slow down and take the shot. will try
Death from Above
It about the breath and knowing the killzone.

to slow your heart rate is to meditate. consitrate on the targets movment and adjust to get the right shot. always remeber you must be 100% completly in the zone. no one is saving you and your spotter if you miss

Very skilled snipers will also try to shoot between heartbeats as to add more accuracy to the shot.

It gets easy after 10-15yrs of training.
Reaper308
you have been training since you were 3? man, you are the real deal.

as in deer hunting tactics will work as well, due to the lack of awareness most humansdont have
Pkato
also helps...because of the reasons mentioned above...your heart rate/pulse is lower then.
