So where do ya live..

No im not asking.. Not the "stalking" sort..

Ok.. but not since Brittany got that restraining order against me..

Guess this is more in the "brag" catagoy.. G and i sold our wilderness retreat in the boonies..Living rural is cool till you deal with the reality of 45 min (min!) to get .. anything..

So were moving back to civilization.. We wanted a 55 plus community.. Looked at the whole "gated" thing.. Actually this is something we had before, and honestly not us.. For one thing if your gated it means an automatic 100+ per mo assoc fees, and an inboarded "attitute" that was not, and is not us..That being said the 55 age restriction is something that works.. Sun City gets kidded a lot due to the whole geez thing.. BUT.. you get 55+, really nice areas that are for the most part free of "nose tilt".. Protected property values, and accoc HOA fees of 30-45 per mo.. Sun City is huge. The population is right at the total population of our current County (Yavapai) in AZ..

Two things i want to tell you guys about that i know you all will get.. First off, we really like that were sharing this area with the largest single group of the WWII generation in America.. Some areas of FL have a high concentration as well, but nowhere in the world are their MORE of the greatest generation than Sun City.. Pretty neat everywhere we went we saw these old boys with their WWII vet hats on..

Item two.. Ready.. our new address is .. WINCHESTER Dr.. yep.. Nothing PC about this one.. I can't say it had anything to do with the decission.. it didn't.. zero.. But i sure do like it.. I chose to be on this site cause duh... firearms.. and you lop's of course.. and straight up.. in a world of ecopolicorrectreehuggoneword .. It could have been.. lets see.. Prius ave.. Greenpeace Ln.. Aternate life style Ct.. or united nations Blvd..

Nope.. Greg and Glroia are heading to.... Winchester Dr..

group. Y'all can sit around sipping your Geritol and swap stories about the Battle of The Coral Sea and Midway! I'll bet the air smells like Absorbine Jr there, right? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy for you and G for having more time w/G-kids. That makes it worth giving up the country life.

Suburbia. Dallas (aka yankee enclave), TX. It's a love/hate thing. Lot's of thing to like. Great republic of Texas, good economy, it's Texas, close to family, living in Texas, Good central location that's a major hub for the nation. Oh yeah, did I mention the greatness of Texas? lol

Lot's of things to not like. Asshole population higher than Tar&Feather committee should allow. Urban sprawl, traffic, rudeness. I'm a country boy, and I admit I get nostalgic about it. But like you've learned, Greg, sometimes all that nostalgia masks the downsides. e.g septic tanks, broadband availability, convenience of location missing, etc.

I moved to what used to be the outskirts of the metropolitan area. But the city has since grow past and around me.

My goal one day is to have a little house in a suburb on the outskirts of town with a recreational place out in the country when me and TBH want to get away.

wish you luck Saint..

were really happy with the move.. Yeah i'm going to miss the trips to the range.. Where we are it really is rural to the point of poping the top after leaving pavement.. Not sure on the "real" legalities on this.. The roads are owned by ranchers not state, so tickets are NEVER given out.. Sure if their was an accident it might be diffrent, but neat to stop and talk to SO's and not worry about the open can.. Also neat to see the wild life.. G did the move for me, and now i really need to return the favor..

The thing is that i really don't go to the range as often.. No way that i could ever compete again, so a mute point.. Yeah the greatest generation being around us will be neat, and with luck i'll be the "kid" that gets visited because of the parkerized rem/rand, and victorys.. be neat to haul a bunch of them out to ben avery (thats the big range north of PHX) and let them blast a few .. Guessing i might get to hear those stories Daisy mentioned.. Will see.. I know it's going to be neat to have Arbys close.. Night ya all.. see you guys tomorrow..
