Spelunking: Anyone know locations of caves and mines that can be explored?

I have done Colossal Cave in Southern Arizona, but other than that only limited Crown King mines in Arizona. Colorado and West Virginia have so many, but I have not seen much in AZ for sites, or groups or anyone that knows anything about it... I must be looking in the wrong places...

Any help is appreciated!

I was hoping a bit for some Arizona, Southern Utah, Western New Mexico spots... That way they are weekend trips.. Then I just need a few buddies that want to get out and play too! I have my gear already, and have made some good adventures worldwide, not to mention the Roman catacombs (Not the tour)...

I am ready for some new adventures!

You could try the Bristol Caverns in Bristol TN. I went there a few years ago and it was amazing. Hope this helps.

Schuyler,

You are a guy full of good information so far!

I do not seem to be able to get the link to work though... My internet is picky here though, it may be on my end... I will try it again later.

Cleaning up the vehicles yesterday.. Notice Glorias R front tire has a LOT of wear.. (I dropped the ball, normally a tire fanatic) So up to Prescott..Wound up with new tires, and damn big bill for alignment... Castor, AND toe in were WAY off..

Anyway while were waiting we go to the only store close (Goodwill) to kill some time.. I find a Nam Jam T shirt, market Tucson chapter VNV 106.. Don't know what year it came from, looks new.. but we did the first one back in 86.. So for $1.99 i got one special T Shirt.. pic will follow in the near future..

So how are my pard tonight..anything new..

Sam, Greasy, et all..

I'm doing fine except got hit with an extra 500 for the tires.. (they were on the agenda, but not till fall) and the alignment really hurt, as it was another 200 total for parts and labor.. It was a straight up deal (camber and toe in)..R side was dead on, but both lefts were way negative.. Her impala drives great.. But not going to kid that i was not planing on this..

Good news is i found out im going to be reimbursed from VA for the radiation stuff.. ALL of it.. the 9 weeks of driving.. the salvage.. the co pays.. all of this is from agent orange.. I know damn well that AO didn't cause it.. But the deal is (thanks to Mac and Graham) that if you were in theater for one step its an auto..as its one of i think 6 or 7 illnesses that are related to AO.. So the VA has already told me this will happen.. Down side is that because of bureaucracy its like 9 months away.. But believe me happy.. and happy all is going well with the "issue" as well..

Greasy is the PT helping.. be honest with you it didn't me brother.. sure hope you have better luck due to your age and all.. Praying for ya pard..

Sam.. YES i read the letter..Proud beyond words of you..I only wish we could come up with one that all vets could sign and send to the news media.. I'm thinking that would cause a bit of "attention"...

UPI.. President whats his name received a letter today signed by over 2 million Vets telling him that due to thier loyalty and honor they would defend him with thier life.. but he was a piece of SHIT....

THE VA: gregaz

Ugh.... The dreaded VA....

I have been fighting them on a few fronts for 10 years! The only medical facility in this country I have heard of that seems to not give a darn about the paitents, only getting them out the door... Other doctors at real hospitals are greedily waiting to perform every procedure and service possible to part you from your coin...

They have given me athroscopy, chondroplasty, and microfracture procedures on my knees (3 surgeries total on them) and still insist that I am too young being in my 30's to receive knee replacements...

They also are a pain to try to negotiate ratings with... They agree that everything is service connected, but say they don't have enough info to make a rating decision on anything other than one of my knees even though both have had surgeries with them! I feel like an old man and I am so young still!

This is socialized medicine for those who actually think it is a good idea...

good to hear that the VA is going to reimburse you, also as i'm sure you already know, that if you spend 7.5% of your income on medical bills, you can get a deduct for anything over that on your federal taxs, that's your copays, medical insurance premium, mileage to doctor/ dentist/ therapist, don't mean to go on about it but i want you to know it could be substantial.

Wisconsin VNV threw/throws the best VNV parties,i got pictures i can't show anyone, lol, and no they are not of me,haven't been to one in over ten years tho, crap.

TL, here is a link for you: http://www.maintour.com/utah/spelunking.htm . There was a way cool place called "nutty putty" cave on the west side of Utah lake but they sealed it up after some dude got stuck and died a few months ago: http://www.idahostatejournal.com/news/national/article_0d7c2ab0-dae0-11d...

Awesome, I added a few areas to my list from your site recommendation!

Funny how somebody dies and suddenly it has to effect everybody else...

I know... Here is a liberal idea! Lots of people die on roads, maybe we should close them down too!

Spelunking in AZ

Anyone here want to get come Spelunking and mice exploration going on in Arizona?

I would like to put a group of people together to go shooting, caving, ATVing, and other cool activities... It would be more fun, and a better safety for us all to have some backup on our adventures... Nothing quite like having your Jeep break down 80 miles from civilization forcing you to walk 2 days to make you wake up!

you could always go caving in ebear's ass. If that's too full of men, Nitris's dog is available.
