I am a Bud Guy also.

I know I have drunk 1 or 2 truckloads in my illustrious life.
I also like Shiner Bock, brewed in Texas.

Shiner bock

Is ok. And Bud yes for the cheaper stuff. I mean cheaper than the Shiner B, and micro-brewed beers, Which I lean more towards. I really like wheat beers. Sierra Nevada Wheat, and a micro from Ky (i think) called Schlafly's. Its more along the lines of a light Ale, but its still smooth, are like velvet in the mouth! Ppl look @ my husband and I ackwardly when we go out, cause Im the full flavor one, and he's the watered down Bud light!! He's stuck in his ways, this old dog, (he's 10 yrs older than I am) aint learning any new nothing!! LOL

Congratulations on your new job. Just what will you be doing?

BTW, I remember Ben E. Keith from growing up close to Wichita Falls. At that time (1940's and 1950's) it was into produce. A couple of friends of mine worked there.

Beer

Never had Dixie. Living in Texas, I used to drink a lot of Pear beer (sort of heavy, but I always really liked it). Anybody remember JAX, made by the Jackson Brewing Co., New Orleans? Impossibly bitter, practically undrinkable. How about Blatz? Schmidts (Philadelphia beer, very similar to Coor, I always thought). How about Carling's Black Label? And Iron City, from Pittsburgh? I thought Iron City was a bad as JAX, but a lot of people from Pittsburgh must have liked it.

Rainier, Olympia. Rheinlander (Rainier without the advertising,) 99 cents a six-pack. Now, I go with Henry Weinhard's, though my niece's new husband gave me a bottle of "Arrogant Asshole." I swatted her fucking parakeet when she let it fly around her Mom's house and land on people. Talk about "affected."

They were on the back of the label. They had 1,2,3, or 4 dots. As a teenager (when beer was less than $5.00 a case of 24) if you found a 4-dot and got a girl to sign it, it was proof you got laid (or not). I still drive by that brewery about once a month.
