I do not ever remember defending the Obama Administration, here, or anywhere else. BUT let me run something by you, and see what you think.

Over the last few days we have had a media comedy blitz over how stupid we were to DIVULGE our attack plan on MOSUL, Iraq. If you think about it as a potential misinformation/disinformation gambit [like during WW II, the set up of a fake Army, commanded by General George Patton, to keep the Nazis military off balance and "prove" an invasion was going in at pas de Calais rather than Normandy.] Certainly, there are no guarantees--and we will never know the effect this kind of gambit might have had. But it was worth taking.

You might ask--"Why in the name of the almighty" we would do such a thing? ISIS, for all its terrifying Jihadist propaganda does NOT have infinite resources, and if we can thin out their troop coverages throughout the Levant, we have a good chance of swift, well designed assaults, all timed and coordinated by Special Operations units.

NOTICE--The media and the pundits, especially the TV Generals, Colonels, and Civilian "experts" are all playing the game--with lacerating critiques. The theme is "WHATTA BUNCH OF A-HOLES THIS ADMINISTRATION HAS". AND nowhere have I seen or heard the remotest analysis that considers this a FEINT, to cover something much more significant.

So what do you think?? Is this the senile raving of a deranged 83 year old worn out brain, or do we actually have some smart people in the DoD, CIA, et al??

strategy.
I so enjoy hating the obama administration that it's difficult to credit them with anything that would lead to better than our defeat with trace amount of dignity.
If indeed it is a ploy I can't imagine from what quarter of the obama administration it originated. Could the military be giving obama a lesson on who CAN be boss? I certainly do not believe military victory to be in obama's lexicon.
I just don't see the military sophistication anywhere in the obama administration to allow the formulation of that strategy to go forward. In my opinion, that plan would fall to the floor and die.
I'd be satisfied if Egypt were to take the lead of what coalition there may be and use it to stomp the shit out of ISIS.
After that, all we'd have to be concerned about would be obama selling Iran nuclear weapons

we were talking about, I would never put it past them, but alas, they do not have the numbers to pull it off. And I am nowhere near convinced the Egyptians and whatever coalition they can cobble together, would be able to pull it off, especially if they have to rely heavily on the wonderful trained and retrained Iraqi armed forces whose best talent is to surrender, as soon as the first ISIS troops advance over the nearest sand dune.

The feint idea has merit: Keep them off balance and spread thin, while you find and attack their leadership, financial support channels, logistics, and covert transportation methods by day and night, and electronically jam their detection systems.

It is fun to think about.

did overthrow their government for the muslim brotherhood. I should say, he favored Mohamed Morsi of the muslim brotherhood over the Hosni Mubarak government which was helpful to the U.S
There is no cohesive entity in the Middle East that, I believe, can challenge ISIS.
I don't know about Germany or U.K. but I'd say France would demure with the internal threat of muslim terrorism.
If ISIS is to be destroyed it will be the good ol' U.S. of A. telling our military "Figure out how, do it and send us the bill".
I can't imagine it happening until obama is taken out of office.

BAGHDAD, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Islamic State militants wearing Iraqi Army uniforms infiltrated an airbase where more than 300 U.S. Marines are stationed to train Iraqi soldiers.
Eight IS insurgents attacked the facility on the Ayn al Asad Airbase, the second-largest U.S. military airbase in Iraq. The fighters were killed, and no U.S. service members were injured, officials said

What happens if instead of 8 muslims it were 400? What if "our Iraqi friends" turned?
Would obama postpone his tee time? Vacation in Hawai'i? Go on a fund raiser?
