One of like a couple hundred.. i was signing off, thought id have one last check of pm's, and see the Zeiss 200 coupon deal for bino's.. Made me think of one of the stupid stunts i did.. The only saving grace to this one was that i was single so didn't hurt anyone but me..

I saved up and bought a pair of Zeiss shooting glasses.. This was "back in the day", but they were still super expensive.. Really can't remember, just know i sure was proud of them.. Whats the old pride before a fall thing..These were yellow tinted, and worked real well in all light. Only thing is they didn't make them idiot proof, first time i used them i put them back in the case... backwards.. front was padded.. guess what wasn't .. guess where there was a rub..

YEP.. EXACTLY in my point of focus.. I would have had to work to make the rub mark in a worse spot.. Ruined them.. and of course i was shooting with a group of guys who noticed this right off the bat.. as in Why arent you wearing those zeiss you bought..

LOL

There was the time my buddy called me to bring him some bullets because he was going to a Single Action Shooter's Society event. I only claim ownership for half of this one though. He called me said "Matt, I need some bullets, man. You run into town and get me some .45's?" I'm like half asleep and I was like "Okay, okay. I'll bring you some of my own stash." (Okay, truth being told I was hungover BADLY and wanted to spend the least amount of time in the sun as humanly possible.) Anyway, I get up, run a toothbrush through my mouth real fast, snag a box of bullets out of my ammo can, and haul ass to get him his bullets before the event starts. So I see him, toss him the bullets, literally turning around to get back into my car and go back to sleep when he says "What the Hell is this?" I say ".45 bullets like you asked for." He says "Dude, anything look off to you?" At which point I turn around and realize everyone is dressed like John Wayne and I've brought him a box of 50 rounds for the .45 auto. Oops....

Any guesses who didn't get his hung over ass back to bed as quick as he hoped?

First off.. good day to all.. G's up at walmart so it was a mil, history, and smithsonian morning.. The mill channel was disappointing.. don't know about you guys, but aren't we all getting a little tired of Hitlers body guards, and unsolved history stuff.. Had repeats on all the channels so just did the search thing.. All of a sudden i've got a screen full of 53 Corvettes.. ok thats cool.. after like 5 min of a great show i figure i'll check the menu and see what this is to watch in full next time its on..

Direct tv has a new channel.. 281.. Velocity... the show was Chevy 100.. profiling the last 100 years of Chevrolet.. Outstanding.. as have been the commercials for upcoming shows on this channel.. I love it when one of my favorite things (sound like Oprah) gets even better..

Shows how F'n secure i am to compare myself to Oprah.. wait.. maybe i am Oprah.. Sheeesh what am i doing on here with a bunch of gun freaks...HELP..

ok just checked mirror.. white, male.. lifes good.. thought for a min there i could have been rich..

In 1967 I worked with a kid that had a '53 Vette. It was all factory original.
He radiased the wheel wells, cut the hood and made a shoebox scoop, took out the seats, threw them away and installed fiberglass buckets. Took threw away the windshield and installed a flat piece of plexiglass. He took off the fuel injection and installed a (I think) stromberg carb.
After that he wanted to sell it. A lot of people looked, a few told him he could go to heqq and fug himself on the way. He prolly sold it as a parts car, junk.
He made the survivors a little more valuable, huh?

yeah Daisy..

the 53, 54, and 55 had that old first style, and really lousy body work in the fiberglass, plus they had the old "blue flame" 6.. pretty much just a pickup with a cool looking body.. For some reason i've always thought they were pretty cool.. least i could work on one.. yep i can see that in 67..

My favorite of all was the 58, but for some reason i've never really wanted one..(corvette not a 58) Same with the car..something about that 58 impala.. sheesh were geezers.. night ya all.

I think J&G, Direct TV, should pay me money for the endorsements.. Daisy your right thats just so pc.. how about im a person of non color.. Now that i've started talking about it, im going to finish. when the day comes when we can have an honest conversation about race in America with out all the "crap" then will have written the final chapter..

Fact is i feel so sorry for the black kids born into poverty and kept their by the liberals, who are fine with subsidising welfare mothers to the extent that more babies mean more dollars.. There's no way to have an open conversation about race in America if the media bates and criticizes spokesman like Bill Crosby for trying to push the Black community into dealing with it's issues of Crime, Unwed Mothers (80% of births) and the disproportionate number of Blacks in Prison.. Is there an issue of Blacks being more likely to be convicted due to poverty levil, and lack of legal resource.. Yep sure is.. Did Prejudice exist, Yep sure did.. I watched Norths show on the Tuskegee airman, and a smithsonian special back to back not long ago.. Was actually brought to tears by what these outstanding officers went thru.. There was real prejudice in America.. That went out the door when O was elected, and any current problems (and obviously theres a lot of them) have been caused by the liberal elite who have simply thrown money at a problem, and in the process have eroded the spirit of a group of Americans that would have been much better off given jobs than welfare, and a society thats afraid to say NO to welfare mothers..

Last time we were in town we stoped at a petco.. young black man is coming out of the store with a bag of dog food in one arm, and a little boy 3 / 4 in the other.. I watched this whole thing, as to be honest i just don't see that many black dads.. He was greeted by warm smiles from everyone he passed... smiled back of course, gets to his vehicle and loads dog food, then with the sort of loving care only a parent understands loads up the toddler.. talks to his little man, then gets behind the wheel..I know that theres a black middle class where this is common, but it's just sad that this is in all honesty the major minority is a black dad in the home.. im just shaking my head, because of course you can't talk about it..

The one person that could (O) have a conversation about race in America wont step up to bat.. so will continue to have huge black unemployment, subsidised kids having kids, and a HS drop out rate that guarantees failure.. This whole thing is not our fault guys, if black America would wake up and see what liberalism has done to them the republican party would be overwhelmed with new members.. ok rants over... just a recipe for disaster..and sad..

As usual my friend, you're dead on. There are families in my area who are GENERATIONAL welfare families. Grandma never had a job, but has six kids, none of whom have had jobs, but have another six kids each, none of whom have jobs, and most of whom are now pregnant or already working on their own six kids. A former co-worker of mine only had a job until she could get pregnant, worked up to her maternity leave, then never came back. The whole time she was pregnant she referred to ehr unborn child as "her check." That's the mentality that's sinking America.

Sgt. Sam Davis..

Met Sam after transferring to our Perryville Prison.. He rode a white Yamaha police bike..I always kidded him about that, he kept it close to looking like LE because he was honestly proud to wear the uniform, and be involved in all things law enforcement.. There are some people who are just so pure and good that you know their heaven bound.. yep, well thats where he is..

Hate the word "amazing" as it's so over used, Sam was.. Troops loved Ben, and every supervisor he worked for loved him.. He worked Swings, and in Oct. of 2001 he met his crew for drinks after shift change. This is the sort of guy he was, he didn't have a drink that night with his shift, as he didn't have an "civvies" with him.. The rules are pretty simple, and (same in FL Matt?) as long as you take off the uniform blouse your good to go.. Most bars close to prisons in AZ have men and women in white T shirts and brown pants for customers.. Not Sam, if he couldn't be 100% out of uniform he wasn't going to disgrace it..

Got nailed on I-17 south bound, when you ride a bike people just don't see you, and they didn't Sam.. Met his parents at the funeral..Just what you would expect, married forever, ex military, and proud of a son who really was one in a million..

Guess im saying this cause every time i see that third generation welfare recipient who doesn't have a family trade, or for what ever reason feel some sorta prejudice i think about Mr, and Mrs Davis, and the fine son they raised.. Sure we all have similar stories.. just hope our kids will...

Sergeant Davis seems lke a hell of an officer, Greg. I'm sure I would've been proud to serve with him. (BTW, on the regs, yeah, same here, lose the shirt and you're fine.) We've all met that one special person who touched us and was gone too soon, kind of a shame that real hard working, honest people like Sam Davis die early and the leeches of society manage to live forever it seems...

Then you have those "friends" who call any conservative a "wingnut".. You have a bit of an advantage as your working in a system that collects the worst of society.. Don't think i knew to many Officers in any form of LE who were lock step Democrats.. Matter of fact it changed my own ideology from being a half reformed liberal when i first joined the Department to conservative libertarian..

By the way remember that the military likes Paul as well, he has the highest number of contributors.. I question some of his policies towards Iran, but in every other way he's spot on..

Brad.. good to see ya doc, don't have time now to read whats going on, but will soon as we return from our trip (that im late for now...sigh) to Prescott..

Daisy, and all you milspec types.. get ready for the call up.. Is everyone up on the shooting in Afghanistan..(sure with Paul on this one) A Marine shot up a home of 16 civilians last night.. my details are of the "hey honey did you hear this" type, so sketchy at best, but sure sounds like a bad sittuation got worst.. Geezer brigade.. Aten Hut..

Yeah, I was a dyed in the wool liberal before I got into corrections. Became a conservative in a little under six months, haven't voted for a Democrat since.
