So, I am sure we've all seen(and perhaps some been involved) videos of Navy Seals rising up out of the water and firing their weapons. But I've been wondering how is this possible? What is the deepest you can take a bullet or weapon before it will not fire?

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses

As long as the water doesn't make it into the powder, it'll work. I have heard that it's best to unlock the bolt after surfacing to allow any water trapped in the bore to run out before firing, but I don't know if this is true.
