Homeowner and brother chase down suspected burglar

Police were called after a man's body was found in a grassy area on the side of the road. (News 4 WOAI) SAN ANTONIO -- A man was shot to death after an apparent burglary late Sunday.

The shooting happened on the 5,200 block of Northwest Trails just before 11:00 p.m.

Police were called after a man's body was found in a grassy area on the side of the road. The 26-year-old had been shot and killed after police say he burglarized a home off Timber Laurel earlier in the night.

Investigators told News 4 WOAI the homeowner recognized the man who kicked in his door, and he and his brother were able to track the intruder down a few blocks away. They told police the man then pulled a gun and threatened them, leaving the homeowner's brother no choice but to shoot the 26-year-old.

Police are not sure if the homeowner's brother will face any charges, saying the shooting may be considered a case of self defense

At least once a week

I live in the Dallas area and hear about a home invasion on average once per week. I keep my Taurus Judge in my nightstand just in case!

is to stop dealing drugs. The vast majority of home invasion robberies are rival drug dealers

They had a couple guys here dressing up like S.W.A.T. cops with t-shirts,body armor,etc.,etc., and pulling BS raids on rival dealers. They got caught but they had some balls!

Of course they would

The lasting result of this is that dealers fight bcak against real law enforcement raids and get killed or get longer sentences.
