swedish m96 mauser

I got a swedish mauser and was thinking of fixing it up a little to make a good hunting rifle out of it does anyone have any advice about shortening the barrel 20 inches verses 22

Don't do it, unless there's something wrong with those last two inches of bore. Hell, 22 inches is still shorter than a lot of deer rifles out there. Leave well enough alone is my advice
