Read and share! Veterans deserve our utmost respect, not being shit on by some French wannabe K-Mart! I will never spend another dollar at Target again, no matter how many other causes they donate to that I support because without our veterans there would be no country for these causes.

THIS SHOULD MAKE THE ROUNDS .....CANADA AND USA ....

Target Stores - What a surprise!

Wasn't it last Christmas that Target refused to let the Salvation Army ring their bells in front of their stores?

Dick Forrey of the Vietnam Veterans Association wrote.

'Recently we asked the local TARGET store to be a proud
sponsor of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall during our
spring recognition event.

We received the following reply
from the local TARGET management:

Veterans do not meet our
area of giving. We only donate to the arts, social action
groups, gay & lesbian causes, and education.'

So I'm thinking, if the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and
veterans in general, do not meet their donation criteria,
then something is really wrong at this TARGET store.
We were
not asking for thousands of dollars, not even hundreds, just
a small sponsorship for a memorial remembrance.

As a follow-up, I, E-mailed the TARGET U.S. Corporate
Headquarters and their response was the same...

That's their
national policy!!!

Then I looked into the company further..
They will not allow
the Marines to collect for 'Toys for Tots' at any of their
stores. And during the recent Iraq deployment, they would
not allow families of employees who were called up for
active duty to continue their insurance coverage while
they were on military service..
Then as I dig further,
TARGET
is a French-owned corporation.

Now, I'm thinking again..
If TARGET cannot support American (or Canadian) Veterans, then why should my family and I support their
stores by spending our hard earned American or Canadian dollars in their stores???
And,
have their profits sent to France.

Without the American and Canadian
Vets, where would France be today?

'They, most likely would be speaking German and trading in Deutsch Marks'

Sincerely,
Dick Forrey
Veterans Helping Veterans

Please send this on to everyone you know
to let Target know
we don't need them either !

were all in a position to reduce sales to these stores as soon as this get around....
SO THERE IS POWER IN THE PEN AND THE COMPUTER EMAILS!!

AND NOW THESE PEOPLE ARE INTRODUCING THEMSELVES TO CANADA - WOW !!!

I think it's time we organize a boycott of Target stores nationwide, let them see how hard it is to get by without the hard earned dollars of Patriotic Americans who do respect our veterans. I for one will never spend another dime there.

Wow. I used to feel bad about going to Wal Mart all the time becasue everthing in there is from China. But, I don't feel so bad anymore. I guess I will just stop going to Target, didn't go much to start with, but now, never.

characterizations of Target Stores are unjustified fictions, according to SNOPES.

I find something missing in this logic. My father had a large, successful floor covering store in a major metropolitan area. You would not find guns or gun related merchendise there, But you should have seen his gun collection!!

Targets Gun policy

copied from their Policy

Guns / Toy Guns
Target does not sell real guns, or toy guns that can be mistaken for real guns.

In the early 1990s, we made the decision to stop selling "realistic" toy guns. We limited the sales of toy guns to those that are brightly colored and oddly shaped and, therefore, will not be mistaken for an actual weapon. We firmly believe that any toy gun that has the potential to be mistaken for a real gun is inappropriate for sale at Target.

They also donate to anti=gun organizations and have been on NRAs antigun list for awhile,i suppose i could look that up and post it as well.I was comparing Target to Walmart to kmart ,all three sell household items, not floor coverings, nice try to get me to compare apples to oranges but i ain't falling for it.:)

Sorry LBC-----

You missed the point entirely. There are big chain stores and private businesses which sell household items whose business models do not envision selling firearms or related items. Does that PROVE that the management/owners are anti-gun?? And by the way---what tortured logic declared that rugs, linoleum and tiles are NOT household items!!??
See your apples to oranges, and raise you apples to apples.

getting away from guns, ammo and all related due to liabilities in the litigation crazy society. Were it not for the threat of getting sued out of existence they would have happily continued to carry the otherwise very profitable line of merchandise.

I got nothing for any place that's anti-gun. Even if the veteran story is false, they're anti-gun, so from now on I'm anti-target.
