taurus PT92Af possible modification
I was curious if anyone sales ;or knows how to make, a conversion kit to modify the (9mm)Taurus PT92Af pistol into a Beretta M93R pistol. I want to know if it is possible to modify A Taurus PT92AF pistol to shoot a three round burst like the Beretta M93R. James W.

not fully auto thats dumb and a waste of ammo. just a three round burst for takeing care of mountin lions cougers or wild boars up close while hikeing or camping just something to get more rounds into there face faster

I was just currious if it was even possible. just because i asked doesn't mean i will follow through with it. besides i thought you were allowed to ask, after all this is a gun discusion topic is it not.If i have done anything wrong i am sure the site administrator would have said something by now. fyi if i were to do something like make a semi pistol shoot 3 roud burst i would obtain whatever gun license necessary to do this safe and leagly. It isn't worth the fine or jail time not to mention haveing some history go down on youre record for this illegal modification. Honestly i was just curious because i love taurus pistols and the way they shoot. I just thought it would be cool to know i could do something like that not that i would. and to answer you're false acusation hillbilly77 i do not thank the people on this site are ;and i quote you, "a bunch of ignorant bunch of gun nuts".

anytime something remotely or potentially illegal comes up, none of us here will have anything to do with it. Regardless of whether this site is monitored, and regardless of whether some agent is blatantly trolling (I'm NOT accusing you of that) most all of us here consider ourselves law-abiding citizens. Once you've been here awhile and had a chance to observe some new person come on here and the first thing they do is ask about something illegal, you'll know why we react that way. Right now, perhaps through no fault of your own, you fit in that category.

I was just curious thats all and thanks for what you wrote it makes complete sense. I am not a ciber cop or am i, no realy i am a 19 year old texas boy that just happend to stumble on this pretty cool site late yesterday eveining.i guess only time will tell wether i am or not an undercover cop. i plan on staying up to date on this site because there are a lot of new and interesting articels (i guess other members write and post them) that i find to be very truthful especially in this unsure time in mans history.

No agency/bureau in DOJ is going to provide you a permit to convert
any pistol to an "automatic" for your personal use. The "clue" should have been that the conversion technique was not being marketed by numerous companies. If you listen to some shitbird that tells you to start gnawing on certain select components, you might get something you didn't bargain for!!
Given the pistol and caliber you're talking about, and the adversary you described; I would file the front sight off.

sure the other pistol (beretta m9)is probably much better perhaps in quality but ive never shot one so i don't know but what i do know is that this particular pistol is quite reliable.On some ocations i have put 5000+ rounds (including regular target plinkers hollow points all types of rounds)through this gun in a couple of days at the shooting range without cleaning (and by the way the range was real dusty/sandy with a lot of wind to blow it around right into every crevice of the gun) during this shooting event i had even droped my gun into the sand picked it up and sand ran out of the barrel. i shook it and cocked it a few times to get the sand out. I did not have one ocation of jaming only misfires because some of the bullets ,i had previously bot at a gun show, 2 to be percise did not have the primers in them. the taurus pt92af and the newer models are great. there acurate and don't jam. Personaly i prefer the pt92af over the newer models but the only drawback is that the older model i have doesn't have any rail mounts for falshlites/lasers and you can only put differen't back sites on it. most reliable gun that i have personaly shot. I am comparing this gun to these others that i have shot(sig p226 9mm,which is still a fantastic gun)(Glock 17 9mm,overated, the only reason i liked the damed thing was all the differn't stuff that you could buy for it to make it look like a better piece of junk)(baby Deasert Eagle .40cal) (and a beretta m9a1 9mm )

It is possible to manufacture a conversion kit for the Taurus, and you can get licensed to do so, but because it's after May 1986, you can only do so for law enforcement or government agencies and can't do it, for any reason, for personal use. And as for why you should trust me, well, I work for the federal government, so I must be trustworthy, right?

I had one of the older models, I put pretty close to 15,000 rounds through it with very few issues. The Glock 17 is not overrated. The Glock series is the best combat pistol series you could ask for.

The Glock is very reliable, More than accurate enough, has high capacity, extremely durable, and doesn't have all the stupid switches, buttons, levers, and wind chimes that other guns have. And any gun with the same trigger pull first round to last makes it easier to become proficient with.

Taurus PT92, Beretta 92, Baby Eagles and others are DA/SA. Double action trigger for first round, single action for all the rest. Guns like the Glock, 1911 and DAO pistols have the same trigger pull whether it's the first round or the last one, so your trigger pull is easier to get proficient with, allowing you to concentrate on other areas of shooting.

You can get a Class 3 FFL, also called Special Occupational Taxpayer and you can get a Glock 18 only if you get a request for purchase or testing on agency letterhead from a law enforcement or government agency. Any class 3/ NFA weapon made after May 1986 falls into this category. Any weapon made before May 1986 can be purchased for personal use. Hope this helps
