there is a lot to be thankful for:

I am thankful for my parents, friends, my home town, my state, and my country for giving me the opportunity to have been reasonably successful at earning my "board and keep".
I am thankful that the almighty allowed me to fight for my country, and return to continue down life's highway.
I am thankful that I got to work in the Defense and Aerospace industries, and thus helped in a small way to "provide for the common defense".
I am thankful that an arroused U.S. electorate woke up and realized that brilliant oratory by an articulate charlatan with no relevant experience, is similar to the old time snake oil salesmen who knew nothing about medicine and the healing arts. [You can't really believe either one, and get better. And if you continue to believe them, you might die!]
And I am thankful for all of our members, here. You guys ROCK!

You're an exemplary individual. I second the things you mention (tho I never worked in the industries you did).
I agree that something had to be done, and that the electorate made their statements. I hope it works out. What we need now is for our elected officials to work together for the common good, to move our country forward.
Those who will strive to stay "intellectually pure" and refuse all cooperation with those opposing them will only serve to block any progress toward the urgently needed solutions to our country's problems.

Imagine Thanksgiving from the vantage point of my wife and any Native Americans:

A bunch of white people showed up here with guns and could not live off than land well and for the most part tried to kill anyone that did not look like them since they were "savages"... It sounds pretty savage to me that white people committed genocide on an entire continent of indigenous people so they could claim these people's lands.

The irony of Thanksgiving is that we give thanks to the native Americans for teaching us farming and hunting in a new world... We thanked them in reality in blood... Their own...

Remind me never to help anyone!
