Just a short antidotal story i thought you guys would get a kick out of.. Quick background info, we live in Peeples (correct sp) Valley AZ.. little place of less than 300 people.. Just a little burg, our only claim to fame is were "WAY" remote, and pretty scenic area, our hiway 89 is one of those scenic routes that you take on the weekends, were about 40 miles, and equidistant from Wickenburg and Prescott.

The point of that rambling is to set the sceen. Our litte burg has one store, a for real general store called the "Mountainair"... mountain air..get it.. So we get a lot of folks who make the scenic drive thru our area, and then on to Prescott. These are pretty easly identified by thier general "Yuppeism", Thier either biker wana be's on brand new scoots they can just about handle, or driving some asian super techno wonder.. The rest of the area is all either retired (im raising my hand) or ranch folk.. REAL ranch folk, were surrounded by one of the largest ranches in the nation (Maughn ranch) and a lot of for real cow boys, and retired cow pokes.. SO.....

To make up for the wondering i wont imbelish this story in anyway.. I'm parked in front of the general store getting out of my truck this morning (everyone drives 3/4 ton up here) see another old geezer ive known for the 5 years weve been here, he's parked on the other side of a Toyota Prius.(yep ya can see it coming) the old boy i know is a retired ranch hand tough as leather, weighs about 130lb, close to 80, but for real tough, got maybe 6 teeth left in his mouth, he's leaving and stops to talk so were both half in and half out of our trucks.. The Prius is between us, but were sorta big, and it comes to like our butts..

All of a sudden the door BURTS open, and here comes this 40 something Yuppie out of the store, and right to the door of his precious Prius (that neither of us would be caught dead in!!) he locks the door, and then heads back inside.. dont know why he didn't use the remote lock, but for what ever reason he didn't so my old pard, and i can see his eyes get all half crazy, he starts to say something.. kinda glances over at me, im shaking my head.. giving him one of those, its not worth it, sorta expresions.
So he lets it go, and were standing there, and i think it sorta hit both of us at the same time, how stupid his little act was, and how he had no idea that we wouldn't be caught dead in what he was so worried about us stealing. We both start laughing at the same time, and i don't think ive ever laughed any harder in my life.. both of us have snot coming out our nose were laughing so hard.. Bout that time the couple who have the Prius come out and of course we don't want to embarass them, so were trying not to laugh and giglling like a couple of kids.. This guys is the beauty of life, i couldnt wait to come home and tell my wife, and get on here and tell you guys... As we speak theres a new silver grey Prius driving on 89 with a yuppie who thinks he just saved it ! im still laughing, can't wait to my old pard agian.
