I had a conversation the other day that I've encountered several times before. It was about how religion has screwed so many things up, all the world's problems are due to religion, wars are caused by religion, etc.
It seems to me that these persons seem to misdirect their blame of an action to the tool and not the wielder of that tool.
Then I had an epiphany. How similar this is to gun-grabbers' views of guns. They too blame the tool and not the user.
So, I think that I will translate some of the bumper sticker-esque quotes in this frame of reference:
Over a billion Christians did NOT push their beliefs on anybody yesterday.
Blame the bible thumper, not the Bible.
Sorry, had to rant a bit. So, how goes it?
