Three Contractors

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. One is from Chicago , another is from Tennessee , and the third is from Minnesota .

All three go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"

The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence."

"Done!" replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan will work.

jokes always have some truth to them, unfortunately, seeing bidding and government contracts up close and personal and being part of one now, it's a sad state of affairs. That is one thing, if done right I will support and back Obama here on this forum and anywhere else...COST PLUS CONTRACTS. These (which I am part of right now) TOTAL RIPOFFS...I could tell you stories!

I am sure you ahve the stories if you have to deal with the government at all. What is it that you do for uncle sam? Or is it one of those if you told me you would have to kill me things.
As for supporting the Messiah I will say this if he leaves the Constitution alone and inforces it, I will tolerate him for his four years in the lime light. I hope he does do a good job for our sake, but he has not impressed me so far.

I think it depends on what type of contractor you're talking about here.....I for example make my living off of contracting for the military......Yet I am not a blood sucking vampire.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses
