Well off for some more work with this Ruger P345. I am beginning to believe the old saying about "Old dogs & new tricks" I am now & will always be a 1911 fan Combat Commander steel frame to be exact, is my favorite. But, this DA/AS I also like a lot but getting used to it is proving to be more of a chore than I ever thought.
The first round, long double action pull, Not so bad, but all that slop on the SA side for the rest of the shots is driving me absolutely nuts.( Yea I know, Short Drive )
Any of you guys ever had trouble with this? Any suggestions except more trigger time which is not a problem for me.OK, off to burn some rounds.

Larry the 1911

is one my favorite guns. The only way I adjust is like the you said "trigger time",which in time, will turn to muscle reflex. One thing I do is try to limit the number of weapons I take to shoot and try and match action types with said weapons.Good luck and just keep pushing lead through the pipe, that's my best advise I can give and what seems to work for me.

Thanks R,S. I sure do appreciate the feedback. Yea I know it is just trigger time.
This is my first DA/SA auto, I figured,"Heck, as long as I've been shooting, this will be a snap" yea right. I'll get it, hey, it's more lead down range & that's always a good thing.
Thanks again, Take care & be safe.

But the lead needs to be on target.
I know a lot of people who put a lot
of lead down range and can't hit shit.
Me and ole gregAz are the only revolver
guys here I guess but I would rather
have one good hit than 10 or 12 shots
that go wild.

Not saying you are one of those guys
but you have seen them yourself.
A lot of fire power may be good if you
are being over run but nothing will ever
be better than one hit in the kill zone

Hello Charles, & thanks a bunch for the reply. I agree with you 100%, I see it every time I go to a public range, wasting $ and poking holes in the air. I know what you & Greg mean about wheel guns. There what I was brought up on & what I still carry & shoot most. I do love my Colt, & I am liking this Ruger more & more every day. My regular shooters right now are a Super Blackhawk 10 1/2'' 44 mag, Monson built Dan Wesson 6" 357. Taurus 608 8 shot 357. Taurus 605 2 1/4 " hammerless 375 which is what I carry most of the time. & a couple of "Pot metal wonders that I am scared to death to shoot let alone bet my life on (hey they were gifts) Jimenez 380 & a Jennings J22. I was also taught all my life & am a firm believer in " The first shot is the Best shot your ever gonna get & most times the only one" Thanks again Charles. Be Safe

you need to be on target, especially with your first shot it might be the only one you get,if it's off.I have a few revolvers S&W,Rossi, and H&R.But I am mostly an auto dude.Would love to a old Peacemaker in collection......maybe one day.
