Turkey shoot shotgun question
I am thinking of adding weight to the stock of my turkey gun, because i was told it helped reduce the recoil and make it a little more accurate. I have no friends and no one would miss me if i was gone from this earth. |

what kinda gun you got?
Virginia Scout
It is an 870 with custom barrel...read storm pipe:> can snap a pic if it would help

just put a Hogue or Limbsaver buttpad on it.adding weight is a 50-50 deal.it settles the recoil and gets ya back on target faster but then it is extra to carry...
Virginia Scout
i do not carry this one it is just for turkey shoot, shooting from a bench with a bag rest

then remove the buttpad and pour in some lead shot.reinstall buttpad.experiment with how much until it feels good.
Virginia Scout
was going to drill some more holes and pour melted lead in to them

just try a little bit at a time.it may be easier to put the lead in a ziploc bag and then put it in the stock bolt hole.it wont take much to help ya out.dont do the drill and pour melted lead thing.it sucks when you need to remove it.
Virginia Scout
will do it that way then
