how are you my young friend
Ironkoji
he was up very late working very hard with vic and mike and jon of the design team, and between them they got an extraordinary amount of work done along with my youngest boy and his friend gary, both of whom had sense enough to go to bed to sleep. They are at the tournament this morning and will be home in a couple more hours.

Remington 870 with 2 barrels - good choice for hunting and home protection.

Pistol would be better for home defense, but short barrel on an 870 with 00 buckshot seems to be the popular choice on this site.

an 870 and 2 barrels, now stop starring at me nobile!

When i bought my wingmaster i thought about the mossberg, as i liked the price, and the feel better. But an armorer friend who's a real shotguner suggested the wingmaster, based on a couple of things, first being the pump action had two as opposed to one actuating rod. (this might have changed in 25 yrs) Our agency, AZ dept. of corrections had both, and the aromors i became friends with over a couple of decades swore by the 870, they got rough use as they were constanty being used at the ranges for qualifing. In the old days before we transitioned to the Glock and adapeted the same qualifications as street LE, we did more shotgun, than pistol training, and the Armory ONLY issued the 870 for qualifying due to maintenince issues. I'm not sure any of that really matters. If you get hit with a one ounce slug from a single shot your a goner, or a better man than me if you can stay upright.

i was looking at a mossberg 835tk with a 20in and maby getting a 28in barrel to go with it but from the sound of it i need to look into a 870

In my opinion Mossbergs come with too much frill

I have a Mossy 835 with a barrel cut down to 19" and it works great. I got a stock barrel for it off GunBroker for 15 bucks, so I can still use it in the field if I want. In my opion you can't go wrong with a Mossy 500 or 835...or a Rem. 870. They are all great guns for the money!
