Whenever I go to the range, and I take along my .380, if there is a LEO there, I always get a lot of interest, and usually an offer to by it.

Apparently, it is a favorite of the LEO's for a backup.

It is a Colt Mustang Plus II, single action, in stainless, and in great shape. But most importantly, it shoots very accurately, and is very reliable and easy to conceal.

Backup

I have seen pics but never handled any Keltecs. How many rounds in the mag, and have you researched the ballistics of those .32 rounds?

Kel tec

I have had good luck with a kel tec. I was suprised when it cycled with winchester 9mm white boxes. That was with a sub 2000 9mm.

My backup is a walther pps 9mm. Real small, three different mags. sweet

How--

would you describe the accuracy? Sounds like the capacity is excellent for a small pistol.

Mr. Snake.....That

ia a VERY unusual choice for a backup It's a great weapon, in a good caliber, but somewhat heavy and bulky/hard to conceal.

What made you choose IT?

Not conceald

My SAA Is not conceald. see in virgina you have to be 21 to carry a conceald weapon. so when i go to gun ranges i carry it in a holster. What made me choose it is it is a family relic passed down from My great grand paw to my papaw to my dad to me. I love it. One hell of a hard hitter. Shot a dear last year with it. took one shot. The damn deer didnt even see it coming.

OUTSTANDING...........

sounds like your Colt SA might be a second or third generation, and that makes it not just a prized family heirloom, but also a VERY valuable one.

Very light easy to conceal, good accuracy for such a small gun.
I get 6 shots in 2" groups with mine at 10-15 yards.

Colt Mustang Plus ll

I use the same gun for the same thing. I really love that little gun. It points and shoots so easy. It is quite accurate. It is really small. It is a gem no doubt. I will never be without it.

the Mustang+II became her weapon of choice, until she fired larger calibers, and decided to carry a G17, after completing the Front Sight 4 day school. We also have an AMT "Backup".380 SA, and it is surprisingly accurate for almost no barrel. You can hide that one almost anywhere.

how did she do with the Walther P22? I have one for my wife and she is apprehensive about shooting.

It is a fun gun to shoot, and very easy for women to handle. But my wife is somewhat unusual, in that she is not bothered by either noise or recoil of any kind. She shoots her 9mm and my 40 without any problem, so the little Walther is like a toy to her. Try to encourage your wife and make sure she has good hearing protection.
The Walther is the one I use to teach beginner women and kids, and they all seem to love it.
