Is it possible?? Has the Almighty struck us deaf, dumb and blind?? If so, I truly wonder why?? Maybe it's because we have swallowed the POTUS' Bravo Sierra concerning HOW this country was built, and became the best of the best, ever --on the face of the earth. Our founders didn't build the foundation--Obama will tell you they were successful because some mysterious shadow governmental force helped them. [ Maybe in this case it was the ineptitude of the British government].

Do you realize, my friends?: This charlatan, who calls others "bullshitters", has perpetrated arguably the biggest set of frauds and criminal acts against the people of the USA, in the entire history of elected official acts, in this country. When the dust settles, we probably will find he defrauded the election process by use of a counterfeit birth document, and we will find that he in fact IS a true believing muslim, and therefore is a shadow-jihadist, who will cooperate in attempting to force Sharia law on us. We can only hope that Darrell Issa's House Committee will find hard evidence that this POTUS conspired in the "Fast and Furious" disaster and is presently leading a cover-up of that, AND the Benghazi debacle.
This POTUS didains the US Constitution and has breached his oath of office, and is megalomaniacal enough to push the constitution asside when his goals are being thwarted. He makes early Progressive/Libs like Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, and later editions like FDR and LBJ look like amateurs. His ultimate goal appears to be making all citzens subserviant to the govenment, and to have the central government regulate all aspects of individual life. The new terms being used are Islamo-fasciism, or Islammunism, depending upon the characteristics of each illegal act, and how each changes the organization of our three branch system.

I hate to say it, but my gut feel is that these next four years will be dangerous for "we the people of the United States". I look for this POTUS to gradually and insidiously become more and more authoritarian, and the SCOTUS to become more and more irrelevant. [Congress already is almost totally irrelevant]. Possible game changer is WHO the Military will side with.

A good friend of mine is a Major in the Army. We recently discussed this topic at length. He told me that he believes his soldiers will continue to side with the government as long as they continue to get paid...

If his assessment is correct, when did the United States Military become mercenaries?

I feel the military has been mercenaries for years. I think we should do it for real. Instead of footing the bill for the UN, Lets start charging countries to go and sort out their problems. They pay all the expenses, plus a pre-determined fee. If we can't get the budget under control with logic, do it with fire-power. LOL!

is wrong. You might ask him---despite the paydays---what he believes his troops might do when they hear that their home towns are being ravaged and held under martial law, and their family and friends have had their property confiscated, and are being taken, without due process, to work/concentration camps.

My guess is, the AWOL rate would be more that the loyal mercenaries could cope with, especially when they find their armories bereft of all small arms, and a good bit of ammo.

History says that

If an order comes from a source that is perceived to be legitimate it will be carried out. Which begs the question, how loyal is the military to the current CinC?

As far as pay goes, the near future looks like this, trillion+ dollar deficits till the wheels fall off. We borrow till there is no one left to borrow from, then we print dollars till no one will take them anymore. A confidence in the currency crisis, aka, hyperinflation. The pay checks will be issued but will not buy the paper they are printed on. The same is true with social security, medicare, medicade, food stamps, etc........

My prediction

IF it comes to that, is that, yes, there will be civilian massacres and tragedies. But these will lead to more and more of those uniformed men/women waking up and deserting the madness.

Over the last five years or so, I have had many serious discusions with many of our young EM, NCO's and Junior Officers, of all branches, except the USCG. Those ocassions were admittedly of a serious philosophic nature, because they were acting as Honor Guard for a fallen hero, and I was their bugler. They would look at me, resplendent in my dress blues, with my ancient brass insignia and silver bugle, and thank me for being a part of the "greatest generation". And I would have to correct them, usually by saying something like, "No--THEY were my father, uncles and cousins--I was only a wannabe, in what HST referred to as a UN "police action" later called the Korean War".

It was their responses that gave me comfort we were not raising a tribe of unaware, complacent dummies. My teachers would flunk me for drawing conclusions from relatively small samples, but I believe these warriors had IQ's that beat my generation by about 20+ points, on the average. I admit that this opinion, while educated, IS probably very biased, since they always made me feel a proud, valued part of the team, and they insisted that what I was doing as a volunteer [REAL] bugler, was heroic.

The foregoing is not meant toot my own horn. It is about intelligent, thinking warriors who love their country, and will not follow orders which conspire against the Constitution, and, I believe they will lead the oposition against any movement which appears ultimately destructive of our society and culture.

That's my hope. That those men/women of the military, whatever their background, have been exposed to enough of the realities of life that would know fairly quickly which side is right.
Obama winning another 4 might be a good thing. Ultimately, the decline in America (as in so many societies past) is a side-effect of its greatness. Prosperity and success lead to complacency, sloth, and apathy. This is where we are now. There can't be a reversal in this without cataclysmic events forcing it. If Obummer fulfills his promise to "fundamentally change America", it could catalyst required to expedite this.
Ultimately, I think the vision of the founding fathers will endure and be restored. The real question is, how bad will things get before this happens?
