My Wife and Daughter Love KISS, so Saturday night I took them to their concert. When they came out for the encore Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons were carrying American flags. They went into a long speech about what the flag represents, and all the soldiers that are willing to give their lives for it. Then they had the Crowd stand and they lead the Pledge Of Allegiance, with a big exclamation point on the " One Nation, Under GOD! " Then they brought out some soldiers from the Wounded Warriors Foundation and presented them with a check for $425,500! Just thought I'd share this with ya'll........Nice to see celebrites supporting our troops instead bashing them! It also inspired me to make a donation myself...........Here is the link if anyone else would like to give some to a great cause http://woundedwarriorproject.org/

with a similar celebration. They went through the songs of all the services.

This is just great

It's great that a group like this does this sort of thing.
Just contrast this with all the shitheads that can't criticize our country enough - the ones who make you want to stomp their heads into the concrete.
This is just a great story, and it makes me feel good to hear it.

been a supporter of the Wounded Warriors Foundation!! When Comedy TV did the Gene Simmons Roast, ALL of the proceeds went to them... He had some soldiers come out and accept the check of ALL that he made that night!! It was really cool!! They presented him w a USA Flag, and He was in tears, right there on stage... It was AWESOME!!!!

Man i loved this story.. For some reason i didn't open shacks post earlier, and sure love this story.. Thanks for sharing this, and the story about the flag ace.. To be honest i was never much of a Kiss fan.. like my rock and roll more zz top, segar, and lynard.. But sure respect Simmons for what hes done out side of his field, and getting choked up receiving the flag makes me a fan.. do i have to dress up like a kabuki dancer now..

That image was to much for me...im sorta in shock... how ya all doing

Hey Greg

If you ever do decide to dress up like a kabuki dancer, PLEASE don't post a picture! I don't think the world is ready for it.

Anybody who'd like to see such a picture - please leave the site, immediately and permanently!

I don't plan on going, I was a member of the KISS army back in 1976-77, about the time Star Wars came out. Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley et al are getting old and so am I. It is nice to see patriotic American entertainers still exist, some of the newer groups are young, stupid and very Liberal.........Puke!!!!

but I do wish he'd gotten the army song right in that video.

GTMO kinda sucks

I've never cared much about being by the ocean and all that, but I did sleep through my first earthquake a few days ago. Supposedly it happened about 45 miles offshore, but I woke up thinking someone was knocking on my door and didn't actually remember feeling it, so I don't count it as my first earthquake yet. There are big ass iguanas all over the place and there are almost as many crabs running around here as there are in ebear's pubes.

As for the job, I don't like dealing with the fucks we deal with, but I'm professional enough to put up with shit that I definitely wouldn't have to put up with in Iraq or Afghanistan. The job itself sucks, but I can find fun in anything and have had an hour-long conversation in my head with a detainee while he was asleep. He said some fucked up stuff to me in my head, but I gave it right back.

getting a team together and trying to convince the unit to fund a trip to the 2011 All-Army small arms championships in Ft Benning, GA at the end of March. The BN ops sergeant major is a shooter too, so maybe I'll have an ally there and make it happen.
