I was just reading today's email issue of the Patriot Post [Y'all should subscribe to it and READ IT!!], and came to a great post of a quote from Ron Reagan's favorite economist. His name is/was Milton Friedman, and alas, he left us for that big financial institute in the heavens, about this time of the year, in 2006. As one of our great economic thinkers in academia, Dr. Friedman came to love free markets, and hate governmental controls and meddling, and he was not bashfull about expressing himself about his later loathing of Keynesian economic theory.

You do not have to read his arcane books or papers to know what he stood for, and how well he could make people understand that DOWN-TO-EARTH economic thinking can save all of our butts!! LISTEN to this past quote of "Uncle Miltie", and ask yourself, as I just did----

WHAT in the name of the Almighty, is it, that the demo-libs DO NOT understand??!!

QUOTE// I am in favor of cutting taxes under any circumstances and for any excuse, for any reason, whenever it's possible. The reason I am, is because I believe the big problem is not taxes, the big problem is spending. The question is, 'How do you hold down government spending?' Government spending now amounts to close to 40% of national income [oh. if it were only that low at present!!] not counting indirect spending through regulation and the like. If you include that, you get up to roughly half. { Anybody guess where it is now!!?. How about 100% or more}. The real danger we face is that number will creep up and up and up. [It already HAS to a dangerous level]. The only effective way I think to hold it down, is to hold down the income the government has. The way to do that is to cut taxes. UNQUOTE// (NOTE that the parenthetical remarks are mine, not Uncle Miltie's)

My friends, it is obvious: If you did not ever completely understand the term "tax-and-spend liberal Democrat", you should have a better idea now. ALL OF US HAVE A CRITICAL DUTY TO DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO ELECT A CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN AS THE NEXT PRESIDENT. Alas, with four more years of Obamarama, what will be left of this once proud country will be a failed, debtor-welfare state which may not even be able to defend itself effectively. I am praying that the Almighty will not permit that to happen.

Which ever one that wins the nomination. Anybody but obama.
If I ever watch a debate and hear one of the candidates answer "I don't see where that is any of the government's business", I might have found my choice.

is apt to be Ron Paul. I like his brand of Libertarianism, but he whines too much.

a Mississippi flush? I couldn't give a rat's anal sphincter what the media would have us believe. What counts is what the good old common sense US voter believes, AFTER almost four years of Obamarama. At this point, without too much of a flight of fancy, almost ANY Republican/Conservative would be a better president.

how about, "We will serve proper notice, that within 60 days of the inaugural, we WILL be leaving the UN, and we will no longer, after that, grant diplomatic immunity to any UN diplomats or their staff members."

And how about a constitutional amendment which provides that Presidential "Executive Orders" may be struck down by a 2/3rd majority vote in both the House and Senate.
