I've been looking at getting a P229 because all of the caliber rounds you can fire out of it, but i've been wanting a P226 Blackwater Edition.

Anyone?

The p226 blackwater only comes in 9mm, therefore you can't add any larger conversion barrels. I agree, its a sweet gun, the only down side is you can't get it in .40. If you start with a .40, you can get the .357sig, or the 9mm conversion.

As for the p226 vs. p229, it comes down to size. the p226 is about 1/2" longer, and thats it. the grips and everything else are the same (unless you get wood grips on either, they will run a little thicker). I own 3 sigs... 2 are p229's (.40 and 9mm), and 1 is a p226 (.40). I tend to like the size of the p229 a little better because i can conceal it better if I have to. They are all great pistols! just decide on what size and caliber you want.

It's funny you mentioned concealment... I have a concealed weapons permit and I usually carry my 1911, rarely my Glock.

I've just heard so many good things about Sig's and then I shot one and I love them. Slim and easy to keep out of eyes view.

Thanks for taking the time to post that info, Reaper.
