I really dont know personally i like PMC gold starfire for my 40SW 180 grain.
The best PD ammo is the stuff that fires closest to point of aim for your gun. Accuracy is more important than power, IMNHBACO. Most modern defensive ammo will perform well, so get the kind your gun likes. the other issue is what kind of gun you're using. You want +P for short barrels to achieve a high enough velocity to reliably expand. My Glocks all prefer 125 gr +P Corbon JHP and 124 gr +P Speer Gold Dot HP "Short Barrel" loads. I am very interested in trying the Hornady Critical Defense, which is designed to reliably expand from short barrels, even through heavy clothing, all at standard pressures.
it's 40sfa w/180grn sfhp for my hi point. thats why i asked I really have no idea the gun really likes it?
If you're going to use it for defense, spend the money to buy a box each of a few different defense loads and fire groups to see which one your gun prefers.
thank you. In our present ammo situation this is what I've been able to find for $18.50 for 20 rnds.
